Guys give it up, you weren't there back in the day, you didn't know then and you won't ever know. To coin Munglers phrase just Chillax, enjoy the informative posts and get on with it, because life is too short and rather than sitting in on here, get out there and actually do it. SS becuse a person is new dose that make them any less knowledgable about life and mean they have no opinion or nothing to contribute is it only the long term members that are the lifeforce of the forum,i wounder ,i know lets ask if you are new like me is your opinion any less important than the next mans ............. and i will say i am not trying to cause a riot it is a genuine question to those who have been here longer. Granted it is every member, new old or even senile, to speak their mind, but let's face it since you have been here you have tried to wind up everybody who has posted anything slightly out of line with your thoughts. There is no elite here except TEAL and thats because the whole damn site is his. Lighten up, except that your views will differ from others views, prove your point with facts and not hearsay or over zealous emotion and you will get on fine. Nobody knows whether you are knowledgable or not at the moment, because all you have done since you joined is argue. Post some pics, an article on your day on the clays, rabbiting, lamping whatever and you will see that you will become accepted the same as everyone else. They did not come onto this forum being confrontational, and having to be in the high light of every post . They knew when to ask and when to listen and when to just keep quiet. There has been some trouble with trolls lately, and with people just here to cause trouble. I am sure that if you would learn to take a back seat, and to look and listen ..... with out lashing out then you would find things running much smoother. Some people joined and seemed to think they were in seventh heaven or summin similar - bit like Ron after 10 supers of an evening Well anyway, they were found to be doing things that were perhaps meant to be funny but weren't seen as such and they got slapped down for it. The result is that a new site named simialr to this one was set up and seems to be in competition with this one but - there is nowt much happening over there and we now seem to be getting an awful lot of chuffa's coming on this site and basically trying to stir it up and unsettle the whole forum. Result is that some folks are challenging these people openly and hard in their posts and it is obviously getting to these trouble makers because they are beginning to lose it and seem to be sending in anybody they can get to join. Some are obvious others not so - some are downright ludicrous others less so. At the end of the day - the people who are members of this site will choose if they want to remain here or not and even those who have issues from before seem to be choosing this site over the other one. At best, I think the other site was a dstraction for a short while, but it doesn't have the oomph or knowledge base that this one has. Nor the humour! We all from time to time fall out witrh the mods and speaking for myself fellow members..... Now ,as I told you on a thread and a pm , you either accept the forum or leave, I have been banned threatened to be banned full stop, normally when I have gone over the top, in a booze filled rage. and at the time would not have cared if I had been banished... but as I told you , the people I fell out out with big time, ie Mungler, Lefty, LV, etc have turned out to be good guys, my friends!! Bloke A posts Bloke B disagrees with BLoke A Blokes C, D, E, F, G, H and I back bloke A up. Blokes J, K, L, M, N & O back bloke B up. Mods step in and post a comment or two to try and take the heat out and end up getting fired upon by both sides. Newbie Bloke comes in as does old bloke who hasn't been on for a while and asks whats going on. You never know I might just talk a little sense. There are a few id’s on here that really get my back up. I am sure I do it to others also. But when you go down to your local do you "like every one there"? It is a fact of human nature that some will disagree, so do you stop going to the pub because you don't like that John Cleese type character? No, you go but ignore him. Well just do the same on here; the good thing about the Internet is that "no one is in punching range" So every one gets a chance to "cool off". Arguments happen! If you throw comments like this "lot of so called elite on here or they think they are" then everyone will think you mean them - so they will take umbrage at your comment and respond and ask what the heck you think you are doing making such quarrelsome statements when you know very little about anyone here. If you then go on and moan beause they have come back at you and you cannot handle that then that is life - get on with it. But no, you have to come back with this or similar statements "what ever happend to this country and freedom of speech,were is the backbone its on here but its being suppressed" Now I have underlined two factors in that last comment of yours because, whilst you are saying it is alright for you to ask for freedom of speech; you are not allowing others that privelege - or when you do - you then cry "MAMA", because you cannot handle the comeback. Cut out the MAMA part and join in the banter that goes on here - it isn't as if you have signed up to a contract that says it will hold you liable for anything you say! If anything you say gets out of line, either a mod or an admin will soon let you know- sometimes indirectly like deleting your part of a post or moving it to somewhere more suitable - and sometimes -as happened to me a while back, with no comment whatever! But another poster will likely tell you the why of it. THis is only a forum for folks who are passionate about their shooting and country life. You need to keep in mind as well the title of this part of the forum GENERAL BANTER. C'mon man - lighten up - please? If you stick a load of blokes together there's going to be subjects that they disagree on - big deal So they have a few words - so what? Occasionally one goes too far and gets banned - so what? Life goes on, people will always disagree. Christ, I'd be bored senseless if everything in life was all fluffy and everybody agreed with me all the time. Chill out guys, we're all on here because we have one thing in common that we love and enjoy. I haven't been on the forum long, but long enough to know that some real good guys on here that will go right out of their way to offer help, advice and so on. Maybe a little team building is required and the site runners will organise some get togethers up and down the country where we chip in and have a drink, maybe a nibble and put faces to names..... Some more than most, but what it is all about is the craic, the banter, the leg pulling, the meeting of (I nearly said minds) like minded people. We have a damn good laugh at everyones expense, nobody is spared, clays/paper are shot. friendships are made and lost and then made again. Hope to see you at one sometime soon.
