Frank
Had another outing with my pup last Saturday morning, went great, altough their was no bolts, had to dig for the 2 bunnys i got with her.. The pup did very well and is slowly starting to Mark... Boy, did i work hard for my bunnys today.. Had a 2 ft dig to start with, then 3 digs trying to get to the rabbit, as it moved everytime i got near.. Ended up with a 4 ft dig, to get the second bunny out.. I would like to state, i waited a good bit, before i decided to dig. Some pics below of our morning out. Frank. This below, looks like the moon , but i got their eventually.. The big 4ft dig, im getting too old for this.. End of days shots. One of the bunnys is headless, the pup had eaten it whilst i was digging.. Cranfield
Good pics Frank and I still think that is a nice looking pup. Any thoughts on why they wouldn't bolt ?
Frank
Thanks folks. Cranfeild, i think the reason they are getting harder to bolt is to do with the time of the year, they are setting up home, ready for breeding, now saying this, im sure their is still a few that bolt, but their getting harder to shift. Strong rabbits that are left round my way, they have survived the winter, mxy ect. The breeding season getting earlier every year it seems for the bunnys.. Ferret Master
Good man Frank. Perhaps they weren't bolting quite as freely as it was windy? FM

bob300w
Did you know that you can buy rabbit in Tesco's without all of this digging caper? Nice pics, and that dog looks a belter, nothing to beat a frosty morning with ferrets, one of my favourite sports is shooting over ferrets

You can buy frozen rabbits (from china) in my local supermarket Frank - great post and pics, im looking forward to starting on the ferreting road myself - thanks for the encouargement The incredible thing is that people buy this Chinese rabbit, and I can't give them away My brother buys it, god only knows what they are fed on, yet I can't give him a free-range English one, it's mind boggling. I even offered to skin and joint one for him, but no, he only eats "proper" rabbit. Mind you, he's not a shooting man, maybe that explains something.....
