flash
after replacing the scope on the 243 with a swarofski, dad has realised just how bad the quality is from the scope on the 22. so we are now on the look out for a new scope for our 22. it needs to be good quality glass. will be used for lamping so needs to be good at night. can anyone recomend a decent scope that will fullfill this role. around the 150 mark. cheers flash
Mungler
There was a S&B on here for around the £200 mark - it might be still available. Stretch and buy something good. Buy cheap, buy twice. What about this: http://forums.pigeonwatch.co.uk/forums/ind...c=53248&hl= Pitch an offer? Comes with mounts etc.
casts_by_fly
flash, what magnification are you looking for? Variable or fixed? Thanks, Rick

Dunkield
If you can find one you could get a seconhand Meopta 7x50 in your budget. It won't have variable mag and all the ***** and twiddly bits the airgun scopes have, but you can see things very clearly through it - which I think is the idea  Or the S&B Mung pointed out. chunk
4-14x42 Merlin for my Sako. 30 mil body tube, mp40 reticule, target turrets. Good clarity into dusk all for 170 quid.

jammy1800
nikko sterling nighteater and hawke varmint are both good variable scopes for that kind of money but im not sure how well they work at night or what quality is like, worth investigating though

dunganick
Another vote for meopta, in my opinion having adjustable target turrets, paralax adjustment and zoom are just an expense which you pay for (Whilst gaining no optical quality) and also something to knock or go wrong. the 7x50 should be fine for a .22 most .22 shots are about 50-70 yards. And would suit a centerfire if you got another and needed a good scope.
Poacher
another vote for the meopta, i've got a 6x42 on my .22 and it works well, nice glass no complications and a few extra minutes at dusk
