Not a lot to decoy on around here, rape is too high, barley still green, there are one or two pigeons on clover, but not enough to justify humping all of the gear out of the garage for. What were you coying on?

??? i won't lug all my kit to a spot that i am not sure of and at this time of year decoying isn't very good. having said that it also depends on the crops. i think the peas won't be long and the pigeons will be on them but there arn't any my way ??? .

also i am not a big fan of shooting many pigeons or rabbits at this time of year i would rather wait for the younger birds to be able to cope well on there own.

thats just my opinion i have nothing aggainst anyone else who does shoot lots this time of year.

Had a good ride a round the farm today and found two barley fields just turned milky and a few pigeons flighting in and out ,not enough to make me want to set up just yet . Will leave them alone untill next week ,i will then have a go and hope to shoot a few . What was interesting was quite a few pigeons on the young suger beet .Will have to have a go at them to keep my farmer friend happy . It wont be long now before the stubble shooting starts . Isnt it a wonderful feeling when you see the combine cutting the first field of barley or rape .The anticipation of the days to come . The wonderful long warm days when you can decide to go out first light or last light or both . I love this time of the year . Harnser .

Hi guys, pigeons on peas still on my permission they dont seem to have bothered the clover for past month or so mainly because i think the grass is just to high, peas about couple or so inches high, got set up today at about 3pm packed up at half 6 and managed 31 and 4 crows, what i did notice was the field next to where i was was barley, there mustve bin some laid on the far side as this was attracting a large number of crows and pigeon unfortunately i dont know who it belongs to,whilst in the hide got a phone call from a farmer friend saying they had cut some grass and did i fancy some rabbits, what a silly question,so straight home quick sarny grabbed the rimmy and off, rode round in his landy for couple of hours and shot 22,after a terrible start decided to re-zero,8 clicks to the right and was ready to try again, lovely nite apart from a shower, cant wait untill the rest of the grass is cut and more laid cereal, got another pea field to do tomorrow so im returning the favour and taking the farmer friend all been well and if the weather holds, will let you know how it all goes.....Nige.

Popped out this morning to a couple of fields that the peas have started to come through, there's been a bit of pigeon activity so i though i'd give it look.Well after a morning of nice sunshine with a light breeze the total at end of play was.

28 woodies.

Including five left and rights.

Add on six crows for good measure.
