webber
If all you want is insurance the world is your oyster. However if you wish to support, promote and protect your shooting and also have the benefit of insurance and access to the UKs finest firearms department, then your choice is somewhat narrowed. Its BASC for me. webebr
Jesse James
I will second that, BASC all the way.... ATB Lee

snozzer
Remember BASC is not an insurance policy, it is membership of an organisation to protect and promote your sport, in addition they provide you with an individual policy, they don't just make you a part of a group policy. Stamford
Just as i suspected really, but have had good reports from SGA, not just because its the cheapest ! Any thoughts on CA, looks like a good deal for 18 months
V8landy
If all you are intrested in is insuarance you can get it yourself much cheaper than any of the above, or you might even allready be covered i.e private mediacal, home or car insuarance. But ask what else can they do for me, or more the point what will they not /cant do for me? That is the difference of the above organisations. Just have a look at recent posts, you will see what I mean. I went through all this a couple of months back...I have made my choice and glad of it. Stamford
Presume you get a nice car sticker and a badge I sort of made up my mind before I posted and was heading towards BASC because thats what the majority seem to advise.. Plus, you hear more about BASC than any other organisation, so the more they shout and promote the better for everyone I guess Thanks guys
Stamford
Pigeons Killed '08 - Three!!! Every day I learn something new. Sorry GJUK but this made me chuckle.... I presume you've learned to take the safety off
Highlander
Oh C***** this old chestnut AGAIN! Shooting isn’t and shouldn’t be just about insurance (although if you do without it you’re a ******** in todays PC world). Money spent with any organisation that supports the sport and fights for shooters rights is IMO money well spent. BASC do it the best and get my vote (and a damn sight more of my money than the membership fee). Most of the others aren’t large enough so don’t have the clout needed in today’s political minefields. In this country we have some of the finest shooting in the world and that’s partly due to the activities of organisations such as BASC. Support it. And to coin a phrase with apologies to JFK...Ask not what your organisation can do for you, ask what you can do for your organisation. I presume you've learned to take the safety off (off topic) Hahaha. I've only been out shooting twice . Obviously i'm **** still but im getting better with time. I hit 90% of the clays last time I went on Sunday! (back on topic...)
Ozzy Fudd
ah clays are easy, nothing compared to pigeons once they light theyre after burners.... just rejoined basc, was in the same boat as stamford, let it lapse at the start of the year due to moving out of the countryside and thought wouldnt be shooting anymore, started again during the summer tho
