Mungler
*entire membership leaves...* *management reverse 5% charges* *60% of membership return...* 5% of the 40% that stay is still 5% of 40% more than is currently made - no one makes anything from this and there is no charge for coming or going. The owner gets enough to cover the servers and the mods are unpaid. Deeply unfair as it may seem in a Kevin and Perry stylee it is thus not a democratic forum. Owning this site and moderating it is a fools errand. Obviously the mods are over qualified for the job (wokka wokka etc) but nonetheless I for one am grateful. Danger Mouse
A moderators job is quite demanding at times, some people don't appreciate what they do for no reward, but good manners and tact cost nothing from either member or moderator. Ferret Master
{ ferret master everyone else seem's to be able to work it out ? } simple realy bumping seems to work on every other forum as i said before .. people who want to sell item's will bump them letting everyone know the item is still available isn't that the idea . if you don't see it on the front page you just presume it's sold .. as for room on the site ferret master delete the 5 / 6 week old adds If one person starts bumping then everyone has to otherwise your items will slide into obscurity very quickly. Items will not stay on the front page long if people bump their items that haven't sold (maybe for a good reason) up thus knocking them down. People don't have to 'presume' that they are sold. Most sellers will put SOLD in their post. Afterall they don't want to be hassled by people inquiring about an item which is already sold. As for deleting adds that have been on for a certain amount of time. I'm sure the mods have plenty better things to be getting on with than zapping an add as soon as it has been on for a set amount of time. Imagine the kerfuffle if someone was interested in the item and when they next looked it had gone. The current system is good. It gives all sellers a fair shot at selling and after 21 days if it has not sold they are allowed to re-submit their advertisement. FM
starlight32
What I want to see is for sellers to realize the credit crunch is here. As with everyone why is it you buy an item for a grand.....Keep it for two years and then want to sell it on pigeonwatch the price is £995.00? Another example.... Hatsan Escort Magnum for sale...fired approx 3000 carts. Price 285.00? Buy them new for 300.00. Too many overpriced items on here and it ain't no good to the majoirity as really we want something for nothing. I suggest the moderator's screen the ad's and set there own price for the benefit of all and of course the ailing British Economy Regards Starlight32 'I ain'nt tight but I don't like parting with it'

Mungler
No Henry, the nub is that no one likes rules or being told what to do. It is embodied with that Euro nonsense on "Human Rights". Obviously, "Human Rights" in somewhere like Burma or Zimbabwe would mean not having the police burn you and your family alive, but in this Country it means that no one has to do anything they really don't feel like doing and everyone is owed a living from the government. If a policeman asks you to do something or a teacher asks your kids to do something at school - yeah just say "no" no one tells anyone what to do anymore. If you don't want to work then don't go, yeah you have rights and a right to be housed and looked after by the state. erm.... I digress. Put the Daily Mail down and step away. Cranfield
The point has been made (and probably forgotten), so it time to close this before it gets any more esoteric. Just on a side note, its interesting that those who call the loudest for "bumping" to return, seem to spend more of their Forum time in "Buy, Sell, or Swap". Just an observation.
