paulos
Shot a 91ex100 at Shugborough this morning and then an 81ex100 at Doveridge afterwards. Happy with that, but now worn out and in need of a week off next weekend.

Incidentally, Pete, did you get any shooting in yesterday That's a nightmare - I got hacked off with the times I drove to Fyfield to find it shut (one of those clubs with random opening hours). That taught me that before going to any clay shoot always check that it's open, or go with organised people who will check
Catamong
I did the Berks County FITASC Champs at 4 Counties, near Newbury. Was expecting a pretty tame layout, but far from it, some seriously tough targets, I did a 20,20,24 , 21 to finish on an 85, not at all unhappy with that, the new 31" Gamba with 1/4 & 3/8 chokes worked a treat on those long targets. We had a bet going in our squad to pay ouit a fiver for every straight that was shot, I missed the last bird on layout 3 to finish on a 24 , I also had a side bet going with Chezza for a fiver to the highest score on that layout, she struggled and could only manage to shoot a 22, but she paid me out in a mixture of 1p's, 2p's, and a few Euro Cents thrown in as well..!! Matt Hance (from Shootwarehouse) and Cheryl both tied on 88 for High Gun, Matt whooped Cheryl in the shoot off to take the £100 HG prize. There were hardly any scores in the 80's, my Mate Martin did an 86, John Pool did an 87, I think Tony Manvell did a 79, as FITASC goes, I don't think they come much harder than that. Really looking forward to shooting the European Champs in France next month. Cat.
Raja Clavata
What's with all these "ish" scores Our lot: Choked 64 Longshanks 60 Paul 53 Raja Clavata 47 Duncan
MC
I did a 44/50 at my local, obviously not proper targets but was good enough for high gun. Beating Steve Lowes by 3 which is always a bonus.

I'd like to try a bit of Fitasc, I like rangey targets, can't seem to get any of them round here and even when I've travelled to Southdown, Doveridge and the Essex Masters, they didn't put any long ones on

Catamong
He needs all the help he can get. Yes, there's some truth in that, I know that the 3/8 (light Mod) choke will break comfortably any target that I'm likely to shoot, so why handicap yourself with tight chokes..?? I don't believe that tight chokes give you better quality kills, the regular top FTASC shots that I know use 3/4 & Full, and God knows, they chip and halve plenty of targets, you should have seen the guys (and gals) yesterday. There were plenty of rangey targets at last weeks ESP shoot at Newbold, near Northampton, well worth a visit if you want a challenging course, IMHO as good if not better than Doveridge, and certainly better than the Essex Masters. Catamong
I think you'll find that's already happened, I'm refering to the new owner, great layout, well frequented by all of the serious Sporting shooters in the Midlands. Cat.
