I had a look at the insurance on a jeep 2.5. The cheapest i got was £3800-00 for fully comp, i thought **** that, then just tried for 3rd party only and the cheapest was £4650-00, **** me, the jeep is not even worth half that. Must be because i am 23, but **** that, that is just taking the ****!!!!

Beardo
my 98 Frontera SWB 2.0 is insured in the missus name she's 27, clean license, 3 years NCD (1 recent claim lost a couple of years!) - £250 Edited February 2, 2009 by nickbeardo
hairyduck
I used to get my old 90 insured for £98 for me and the missus, utter bargain. I am in my early 30's though which probably helped, and the 90 was a 1983 model worth not very much. 110 I've got now costs about £400 a year with protected no claims etc
lister1
i'm 24 got 3points and had 2 claims in the last 5 years and i got a renewal quote for £495 full comp for my landy
bruno22rf
You should try change your insurer every year as a lot of companies give you a very tempting offer the first year and put you on an "auto-renew" policy-they then hike the premium the second year in the hope that you wont bother looking around or you wont be quick enough to stop the renewal-you nomally get about 25 days to play with.I pay just over £200 for a 4ltr grand cherokee-comprehensive with 2years ncb. docholiday
!0 yr old landy less than 200 quid on go compare, cut my insurance in half for the landy and by 75% for the beamer. I agree its best to buy new each year as the price is increased after the tempting offer.
Toby
is it true that you can get really cheap insurance on a 4x4 even first time around? (17 Yo) if so, what sort of 4x4? Cheers, Toby

dustyfox
is it true that you can get really cheap insurance on a 4x4 even first time around? (17 Yo) if so, what sort of 4x4? Cheers, Toby Im 23 with 2 years no claims and I got a quote from Sureterm who specialise in 4x4. It was a good quote as well £220 fully comp comapred to my next cheapest which was £500, but they phoned me up a couple of days later after i paid the money and asked me a load of questions, then said that they couldnt offer me it and they then quoted me again with them and they said £950, I said no way I want my money back in which they did give me. Now with Directline £500 for a Suzuki Jimny. Your under 25 so dont get to hopeful.

luckytrigger
My old fourtrack is insured with the post office only third party fire and theft but cost a measly £130 for the year and thats with the wife on the policy. I expect i will be paying a bit more when i get my td5/shogun (not quite made my mind up lol!)
