game_boy
FM, I dont know much about the higher end of the market but I'd say that budget would get you pretty much anthying you wanted from whats out there. Be it new or second hand. I would go for a sako or something like that. gb.
red_stag88
Anshutz are the best around if you want to spend some serious doe on solely the rifle. About £450 I think. Sound moderator will cost you about £20.
TX Sniper
mate for that money i would strongly consider a sako, nice wood, great bolt action and accuracy. The other options would be anshultz which are awsome but not as cosmetically pleasing as the sako or a cz which are a great working tool. red_stag88
I have a BRNO CZ Delux (Ha I here you say, do they make them delux!?) Which is a fine tool, it is great for all I want. Cost me £200, with silencer, sling, spare mag and 1000rounds. OK, so the trigger isn't as good as a Ansutz or a Sako, but it was the best I could afford and it is fine by me. Good solid gun, well made and a walnut stock too. Probably not what your looking for FM, as you have a bit more green to throw around. rjimmer
I allways regretted not getting a BRNO when I saw a mate's and compared it with my BSA, that I got, brand new, for £16 from what I remember.
Guest Mr Pieman
Anschutz thumbhole stock carbine Light, accurate, great trigger and better balanced than the Sako with a moderator fitted
Sergeant
CZ452, any model, will set you back around £250 (thats what mine cost me a month ago)and proofed moderator £35 From what I've heard, you cant get better for the price.
dunganick
got a cz452 varmint, 230, it shoots better than i can, and massed hole groups off a bench, its trigger is useable but there is room for improvement, however ive had this stoned and its removed the creep mostly, now im about to have an adjuster screw added to adjust the sear engagement, will keep people posted on how this goes deff recomend them, the heavy barrel is a nice touch, although it makes it a tad front end heavy, and the only plastic part is the magazine (metal trigger gaurd) and a metal magazine is avaible, so its got one up on hte sako's there just dont expect a sako trigger, not many can do that

Oly
Just bought an Anschutz 64 MPR...it has the Match 64 barrel and action as used in competition shooting, and a sporting stock. According to the importers it is only one of two now in the country...great gun if accuarcy is what you are after! Pretty much everywhere else quoted me £650-£900 for this gun. T & JJ McAvoy in Standish got the gun for £470...great service too! A number of people I know have bought Anschutz rifles through McAvoy's now and all say that he is the cheapest in the UK. If your after the most accurate .22lr you won't get much better! The web link is http://jga.anschuetz-sport.com/pm/main.php...&project=jga_de You should be able to get to the Anschutz homepage from there. Cheers, Oly.
