Toombsy
I've booked the morning off already, the cartridge belt was stuffed with No3s and No1s last night, and I'll be down to my local mere at 4am, then back again at around 8 for evening and night flight. Going to be a full moon too - hopefully there'll be a good breeze on too. Can't wait !!!!!!!!!!

GW80
Heading out on Tuesday morning to the shore more for tradition than expectation to be honest, but heading to 1 of my ponds that night which is currently getting a nice flight of feeding teal and mallard dropping in from dusk onwards, won;t be a murder picture as i'm not greedy but can't wait to get back wildfowling!!! Spaniel
Drove past Chew valley yesterday and there were plenty of Canadas down there flying around. One for the Highbridge boys is that there were plenty of Ducks flying around and plenty of Honks from the Canadas down at the Apex lake yesterday.... You may be lucky

You may be lucky Some of the lads go to the foreshore under their flight line as they head out to the mudflats, (or when they return from roost), to me though, a lot of these Geese are a bit tame so I don't bother. I'll be further up the estuary sitting on a creek somewhere awaiting duck......with any luck
motty
I'll be out after a few mallard or teal in the next few days on the shore. It's nice to go out there when there's not many people around, as in about 5 weeks time, thousands of pinks should arrive and that's when every man and his dog will be there. Delbert
Spent a couple of days clearing the fallen branches out of the big pond, clearing the feeder drain and cutting dead wood not a sign of daffy and his mates tho' I reckon next weekend we may be giving the field pit a look but the duck don't usually flight in till the frosts come, so I may get to play with the chain saw to cut some logwood for our farmer. Its a bit odd this year levels are down but the fields are wet thats likely to change with the rain of the last few days which will put the duck back out on the moss ho hum

MC
I have just got in from the first flight of the year, plenty of birds but only a couple of teal near enough for a shot. And I missed with that Still cracking morning and nice sunrise, saw a couple of Kestrels working the marsh which I have not seen before. I saw 3 owls or possibly the same owl 3 times on different fields and a green woodpecker on my walk back. There were lots of geese flying but they were nowhere near me, I am going afloat tonight to try and get under them. Time for a coffee and a nap

ziplex
Just going out in a min for the tide flight :( How do you find shooting during the day? We all seem pre-occupied down here with first/last light, dawn/evening flights coinciding with a good tide.....there must be bird movement during the daylight hours I assume. MC
Too windy last night to go afloat, so we went to our club marsh that you can walk to. Geese were very high but shot a teal so we are off the board :( Nicely retreived to hand by Merlin as well. I am absolutely shattered now as a 3AM start and a late finish is not agreeing with me at the moment.
