crieffy
Posted these on the airgunbbs but thought I'd stick 'em on here too.. Taken last week at "the Bwlch" - north of Dinas Mawddny in Wales. Although we'd seen F15s, Harriers and more through the week, none showed when I went up with the camera Anyway, watching the Hawks snake through the valley and roaring past was pretty good too Even got a wave and a wing-waggle! Hello! These ones were even doing low-level in the dark! Well worth a visit if you haven't seen them up close before. Some cracking restarants nearby too - Bwyty Mawddach was stunning! Tony Nikon D300 with a 150-500mm lens - though 200-300mm would be plenty (and too much for the Hercs, LOL) Thanks

crieffy
You've had your own airshow. Great photos, well done. What about the noise, any headache? Rob. Noise wasn't too bad - F15s may have been a different story! There was a chap up there who said an F15 had done a vertical climb with afterburners on and he reckoned the place was going to shake apart Cheers, John

Killjoy
What location would I type in on google maps to get the best viewing spot for these? I live in Anglesey and have heard loads talking about how cool they are to see so would be stupid for me on the door step not to go for a look. crieffy
Edit// Found a bit of onboard footage on youtube.. The Bwlch is at 0:40 on the left, and Cad West/East is at 1:09. 10 minutes in a car or 30 seconds in a jet! What location would I type in on google maps to get the best viewing spot for these? I live in Anglesey and have heard loads talking about how cool they are to see so would be stupid for me on the door step not to go for a look. Cracking pictures by the way  Lucky sod I'd be there every other day! Take plenty of clothing when you go though - it was a decent day when I went and still bloody cold. Take a peek here > http://www.lowfly.net/6.html That site has details of all the best locations and maps of where to head to. Follow the road on google maps and you'll see a couple of rather full laybys at Cad West and Bwlch what kind of shutter speeds were you getting for them mate, very nice cheers, lee I used 1/500 and 1/640 on the jets - could have done with being faster but it was quite a dull day. I tried 1/100 on the Herc to get full prop blur but it was a bit too slow and I had started shivering to much by then, lol John Edited September 24, 2009 by crieffy
