Isn't it actually time for the same old very boring and tedious responses to actually end?

 

As any fule kno, they're probably not necessary in modern guns but are an eminently sensible precaution in an older gun which might have vulnerable springs or firing pins.

 

OK so you don't use them in your 682 Gold E but sweeping generalisations to 'bin them' are at best misleading.
