  1. I think this just about sums up the reasons I went to basc, Again. I dont agree with the stance on shooting I percieve the CPSA to have.
  2. try dvd shrink its freeware, dont be drawn in by the ones you need to pay for, theyre scams.... matt
  3. Careful here, when you say it should be £99 does that include postage or is it included, if it includes postage, walk away. £100 is a common point where the credit company will get involved in examples of internet fraud. I was had on Ebay with this. Ask for it at that price or ask for your money back...
  4. Beans, beans and more beans, Then let the wind blow it down.....
  5. Bringing the mrs, then Doc? More seriously, Can you keep what you shoot? I guess you don't have to pay per bird type thing in addition? Could I rent a magnet for an additional cost?
  6. A Cat B cannot be put back on the road, this could be because of accident damage or could have been flooded in dirty water, i.e. ****. dont touch it. The only way it has an MOT is bacause the chap mot'd it had the accident and then had it repaired. I didnt think that non dealers could buy these but could well be wrong about this. I have seen them on E-bay though. Its bad news all round if you ask me. for the cost of a 4x4 at the moment buy a straight one or even a CAT C/D. Matt

 I think you may get more of a buzz than you bargained for!
  8. To actually answer your question, Or begin to. The hatsans, are like marmite, people love them and hate them.. The Pro's are Low cost, come with chokes etc, 3 yr warranty, if kept clean will shoot very well. The biggest disadvantage is their reputation, I suggests you try one, if you like it go for it,
  9. Your not that far from me, so I would guess your looking at sywell and barby? Sywell is my normal haunt, at about £7 for 30 sporting. Barby is about the same if I recall... Let me know if you find anywhere closer to Dav I might be interested to turn up! Matt
  10. hobby craft and they also have adhesive backed...
  11. The popup net thingys further down look ok for 25 quid what do you all think? Matt
  12. The Webleys are good, I have the 3 shot 3" magnum rated one. it shoots OK. you need to have a comb raiser too or it all gets a bit funny to shoot. Paid £125 for mine, not perfect but good order. With the bolt on mods dont expect them to make it silent, the 9" hushpowers take it into rimfire terroritory, ok to shoot without ear defenders but still quite noisy! Hope this helps Matt
  13. i believe the climate is changing, I dont believe its changing for the reasons the govt' says is. If it were Co2 why are we allowing the building of more coal power stations in the UK? Why are we banning light bulbs when we should be forcing any country importing goods into the EU to conform to our Kyoto protocols? Why are we taxing little people like me and sending govt ministers to summits on climate change on private jets when they could use video conferencing? The fact is, its a gravy train, one which will make communism easier to achive (sorry re distribution of wealth) and provides a limitless and never attainable level of "greenness". If you look at what 90 % of what the carbon offset money is spent on it isn't buying huge swaths of amazon rain forrest to stop it being cut down, its isnt on researching clean coal technologies its sent to africa making better stoves and schools. As for its almost too late or were all doomed... Remember th 45 minute WMD's in iraq? its we must do this or else you will die, whether it happens or not, at the end the govt will turn around and be able to say "well as you can see we did what was right at the time"
  14. it seems to be around here too, I have hit 3 this week. Why do they seem to want to sit in the middle of the road?
  15. The concept is Ok BUT, I either dont understand or understand but dont like the statement about asking partners or Ex partners about you. This could be very badly abused, imagine, guy gets divorced breakup is a bit nasty, couple of years later the coppers ask the Ex if she feels the chap suitable for a gun. Of course she would say no, whether just to get back at the chap or because in her mind no-one should have them....
  16. Here here, and well said that man..... It never fails to amaze me how people on this forum seem to be shockingly willing to state "Ban this" and "Ban that", with only a little information or better yet based upon what they have heard, whilst at the same time aruging like mad that the potentially offensive weapon they own is quite acceptable, and they have a right to it above all others. What about all the perfectly legal archers, and cross bow shooters, people on this thread have just condemmed, because some **** once shot a sheep? Should we ban rifles "cost someone once did something bad?" Thought not....
  17. It all depends on your budget, and how important it is to you to get a new gun... perhaps the bettinsolli's are a similar price, between 550 and 600 for a new one, and then come with a nice set of accessories. HTH Matt
  18. The tent poles worked Ok needed some tweaking though, if you want to keep it collapsable, then ideally you want to drill the metal joiners through the carbon rod with a 1-2mm drill and then use an R clip like you get on model cars, to stop the sections of the poles rotating. (this stumped me for a bit) With regards to the bottom rotating in the ground, it is a bit hit and miss, although can be rectified by drilling the bottom of the pole and pushing a bike spoke or similar through the bottom of the metal then bending it to a V so it pushes into the ground easy but acts like a barb getting it out.
  19. No one is ever going to say... " i just spent £1500, when I could have brought something better for £350" are they... . I would bet the choke wasnt tight, or could have been over tightened, crushing it slightly in the barrel and forming a lip? I would none the less try to take it back for a new barrel. See what the gun shop says. Good luck...
  20. dvd shrink will also work + its free
  21. It normally sounds like a .22 un moderated rimfire going off. bit of a crack but you dont need ear defenders, and yes they are quite barrel heavy!
  22. Nice one, With regards to the stick to mount it on I am going to try some of the tent poles with elastic through them. I reckon 2x pole sections maybe 3 should be plenty long enough and you should get at 3-4 bouncers made up from one of the cheap £10 tescos tents. The poles would then be light and collapsable. What do you think guys? Matt
  23. I Have to say I enjoyed te show, I did think the £26 entry fee was too high, but then having been to the RHS at tatton this weekend at £21 to get in it seems close to the going rate. I didn't think prices were cheap for anything and all the deals I had seen were people sellling for the same prices as i have seen in the shops. In the end I brought some carts and nothing else. I agree with you the food on site was terrible, and £5 for a burger was a disgrace, Still if everyone thinks the food was too much, and brings sandwiches next year, the vendors will have to re-think, how much they can sell tesco value dog food burgers for! Mat
