i have a home made version of this on my rifle at the mo, but looks a bit of a bodge job tbh, so im thinking if i raise it up and paint it then (hopefully) itll look like the stock was designed that way yep ive been thinking that myself, though what i might do is plane off the top of the ruger stock then glue and pin on the comb of another stock, sanded and shaped to blend in; adjustable sounded good but i reckon its going to be an awful lot of fiddling!!

just saw it, cheers good find

jeez going by this thread none of should say we went out for a shot, unless we put up scanned copies of our cert's, permission slips from farmers and full land registry maps (colour coded obviousley) so that the mini hitlers on here can make sure that the shot was safe enough - oh and a couple of referee statements as well i suppose, just to make sure were sensible and know how to use a gun come on guys, its one thing having a go at someone who has blatantly done something wrong, but quite another to start making assumptions - wise up a bit

are you sure thats a mallet? and not just a sign describing dennis??

read the original post. we already have 3 or 4 clay traps and about 400 clays sitting up at my mates house; apart from the hassle of dragging about traps and clays, we also dont want to leave broken clays lying all over farmland. so we came up with this idea. maybe it will work, maybe it wont, and probably somebody will shoot the towing car with a buckshot load within the first 5 minute but the most important thing, as doc said, is having fun - and whats more fun than 4 or 5 friends standing in a field together and taking the p*** outta each other

sorry mate, work pc wont let me see what youve posted

thanks, but im definitely not brave but im not sure if it would work or not though, its a standard ruger 10/22 stock like this need it raised about 1", and thats just 1" back from the handhold bumpy part - technical terms, i know but you can see the part i mean, the start of the comb thats raised up; not sure if bending it would give me enough height, so option 2 is looking best at mo

quick update. the car arrived in the post a week or so ago, two slight problems, firstly its the type with a lead sticking out the back and leading to a small controller, not r/c type, so its having to be set to go in a straight line (and then will have to be stopped somehow) by taping down the drive button, and taping the control box to the back of the car, secondly its only a 3 volt motor in it, so not the most powerful but it will tell us if the general idea works or not. weve already refined the design, instead of mounting a target on top of the remote control car were going to drag one behind it about 5 or 6 ft, firstly to prevent the car itself being shot, secondly to save alot of hassle mounting a swinging target on top of the car. so were going to drag an empty plastic drinks bottle behind the car, itll be light enough to drag without any problems, cheap to replace, and should kick out to the side when shot, to indicate a hit its still the mk 0.5 prototype, were trying to discover all the best ideas and pitfalls now before spending more money, but looks like itll be fun anyway, testing it out this saturday

for some reason im swaying towards red (the red top on the smirnoff bottle looks pretty ) anyway i just found this, really like the marbled look of it, just need to work out how it was done unless i chicken out and go for a standard type camo (green/brown) i think i might go for a blocky/angular red and black pattern, probly easier to do, well see so any thoughts on what type of comb heightener would be easiest?
-
cheers not sure what type of camo pattern to go for though, not even sure if i want to go for the usual green type of camo, or go for a showy type, if that makes sense - you know, like a blue and grey pattern maybe?

ok, need some help guys. im starting a project for a 10/22 stock, i got one today (cheers dazza ) and know what i want to do, but thought id throw my ideas around on here, maybe come up with something better. i prefer a higher comb than most people, on my own 10/22 i have about 1" worth of rubber/plastic taped onto the top of the stock so my eye is always in the same position on the scope. admittedly having half the stock covered in insulating tape with a square block of black rubber on top looks a bit on the gay side, so ive decided to do a bit more of a professional job. i have two options 1 - cut the top of the comb off the stock and raise it up, something like below 2 - level the top of the comb, then pin and glue a seperate piece of wood on top, and sand down/shape for the top of the comb, like this (kinda) so whats everyones thoughts/ideas on this? which idea do you think would work/look better, and be easier? the stock will be repainted after i sort the comb out so not too worried about different wood patterns, etc. cheers ps im thinking a camo pattern of some sort, but im not sure what type to go for - i want to use something with stensils (ill mess up freehand) so any ideas appreciated

im gonna disagree, though im waiting on the licence coming for my .17hmr - and im not a klan member, thats lee though i have to say im glad i started with a 22lr, by trying to get the most out of it ive learnt an awful lot. plus theres alot of fun in seeing who can empty a 30 round mag the quickest

probably recent, before that people would have just died maybe?!

im 28 dec, what prize do i win?
-
to make pretty pictures in the toilet bowl when you throw it up again? but seriousley, only half a bunny and you feel sick?!
-
true, but (and just checking the ballistic calculator...) the rounds i use are remington yellow jackets (muzzle 164.8ft/lb, 100yd 96.2ft/lb), and remington target (muzzle 117.5ft/lb, 100 yd 80.5ft/lb), so although not over 100ft/lb still very close! dont know about subs, my gun doesnt like anything with a muzzle velocity of less than 1100 fps
-
add to that the fact you can push the range out to at least double that of your air rifle, you dont need to worry about recharging it with air, and youll increase your power unbelievably (i think at 100 yards a 22 still has over 100ft/lb energy). plus you can get semi autos with hi capacity mags hope i talked you out of it
-
if he'd done that to my girlfriend he'd be wishing he was locked away for far longer
-
bunny chest shots - yes, obv depending on the range as for the zero, it doesnt really change, however if you shoot from a bipod then shoot without one your heads probably in a slightly different position, so that could affect poi. as for hmr being more forgiving, theyre far flatter shooting than a .22lr so that would br right

because the looney left have everything so well sewn up that by banning it the government would probably be open to legal action on the account of religious discrimination - not saying i dont agree tho
-
dont charge at all, being cynical about it theyll feel that they owe you one, and wont think twice about telling their neighbours, and getting full permission wont be a problem then

what exactly are you looking to know - just what happens, or what? if you tell us exactly what is is we can help, theres plenty of info on here (esp in reloading bit), or try googling it
