My thoughts are with you, my boy is 10 in about a weeks time but I have already felt the pain of losing him in the future, when my father passed away I didn't shed a single tear, but whenever I think my dog is unwell I go to pieces.

Apes pretty much what my friend was saying, kids unable to wash their clothes or prepare even a basic meal - what have we produced?

A friend of mine is a recently retired Navy Officer who spent many years working on recruitment, he has said that a large percentage of new recruits in more recent years cannot even master the basics of day to day living let alone begin to be trained as a fighting force.

Anyone Else Still Making Lead Shot?
bruno22rf replied to sitsinhedges's topic in Bullets, Cartridges and Reloading
Bought some off you many years ago for my Black Powder Shotgun - best quality shot I've ever seen tbh. -
Kecap Manis would be the only ingredient Ditchie, thought it might taste similar to your sticky chicken idea but far easier.

Along a similar line it might be worth brushing the thighs with Kecap Manis, Waitrose do it.

That's a fantastic offer Sir and truly appreciated, but a minor miracle has happened. Took our Dogs to a different wood on Wednesday and happened to be passing a local butcher on the way back. We are mad on salads at the moment and needed another Pork Pie so I suggested we stop off and get one , now despite having rung this butcher twice over the last 6 months regarding Haslet my other half mentioned Haslet to the guy behind the counter and guess what? They have had so many requests for it that they have had a bash at making it themselves, it's not the best but it is very good for an early attempt and I think it will get better - we discussed a little more Sage and a bit longer cooking time and the guy seemed to take my view onboard. Happy days, I'm a tenner lighter but I've got 4 days of Haslet to enjoy.

Looks good enough to eat 😃, another Triumph Sir. Love Garlic bread with my attempt.

Another nice looker, always put a red bell pepper in mine and burn the pieces slightly with a blow torch, gives a slight BBQ flavour.
-
Rang Holmes but they wont ship, still the nearest supplier so I'm going to arrange to visit and buy a kilo - thanks for the heads up.
-
Tried it once but it was a total disaster, think you need the right combination of pork mince and belly then it's cooked in a tray of water from memory, might have to try again. Seems most butchers that used to sell it in these parts all bought from the same supplier but their factory burned down around 2 years ago.

Simply cannot find anyone that stocks Haslet anywhere in Bucks, not the odd Supermarket garbage but decent Haslet. Can get it posted next day from some counties but postage is higher than the price of the product, anyone got any ideas?

All I can say is that ours does not smoke at all.

The Actifry was a very early attempt and not really relevant anymore, we also have a range cooker with a 2.2KW oven but it is rarely used now, not sure where you are getting your smell from your Air Fryer - ours puts out nothing but warm air. Anything needing oil gets a puff of oil spray, anything likely to get dry (chicken breast sometimes) and I put maybe an eggcup full of boiling water in the bottom of the fryer that then streams the meat as it cooks. Cleaning? ours goes in the dishwasher.

Agreed if you are cooking something like a whole roast dinner, but you will not beat the speed of an Air Fryer for most meals - part baked bread takes 9 minutes at 180 C - your oven will take that just to come up to temp, Tandoori chicken breasts 20 mins for 4 again at 180 C.
-
No Air Fryer?? There was a time when you would have been publicly flogged 😀. Get one quick, buy the biggest, cheapest one you can find - don't get fooled by all the useless auto settings and internet connectivity as you will most likely never use them, pre heat/temp and timer is about all you need.

IMHO both shots were dangerous.

Been with them for years, broke down once and they were superb.

Christ on a bike that looks nice, being hyper critical I might suggest caramelising the onions but you are in nail on the head territory with this one, I honestly think you should consider writing a recipe book and looking at getting it printed.

TEMU - about £8/pair covered in silicone blobs, have a search.

Aldi do a McDonalds chicken strip copy - one with chilli sauce and one with BBQ - the BBQ sauce is divine as is the chicken, add 3-4 Aldi copy hash browns and a few beans and although it's absolute junk food it is sublime.

At the risk of telling you something you already know, once you have the trigger the way you like it cock the gun ,flick the safety off and point the pointy end somewhere safe whilst thumping the recoil pad with the palm of your hand.

Had a bit of surprise txt yesterday, traditionally my 5k squirrel control perm has been only available from Oct till the end of March (ish), shooting has also been restricted to designated firing points (H&S approved) over each Hopper, now we can not only shoot all year round but we can wander all over the woodlands!!! The land is very popular with families and their kids who play in and out of the rides - might get interesting.

It's not, 4 more on Friday and series 4 confirmed.
