  1. Hand on heart I was thinking gravy granules but thought nah - he wouldn't so I was pretty close. Do I get a prize?
  2. I'll guess first...Onions, Beef stock and Cranberry Sauce.
  3. Yep, that was one of mine, stunning to look at but frustrating to shoot. I feel the same about all the BSA last ditch attempts at making a rifle to compete with the German makers - Mercury S and Challenger as well as the Airsporter S, none of which delivered anything but exclusivity I'm afraid. Whilst I have no proof I bet the Mag testers/writers gushed all over them.
  4. Had 2 of these in the past TBH if they shot half as good as they looked then I could understand the desire for them, but in my experience they are a little disappointing. BSA had the right idea but should have spent the same time on the engineering as they did the aesthetics.
  5. Artificially Inseminated? Could explain a lot tbh.
  6. Looks like a common Oak Gall after searching google.
  7. Think it's called a Gall, caused by a wasp from memory.
  8. As already said it's brilliant that you have walked away from what could have been very bad. My wife suffers but a simple change in her Meds last year has resulted in 2-3 attacks a week down to none over the last year . Not sure what triggers yours and it may be worth thinking about - my Wife's seemed to be stress related and identifying the trigger (if you have one) is a huge benefit. Take care, you might be eligible for a Bus pass btw.
  9. The service has been plummeting downhill for years, remember first class post by 9 AM then 2nd class in the afternoon? Prices for parcels are higher than most couriers and I doubt if anyone on this forum has never had an item go missing. I try to use sellers that use DPD or Yodel nowadays as the PO is just so slow and unreliable.
  10. Got to admire his balls with an immediate response like that, cannot help but think most of our lot would be left crying in the footwell then have 6 months off work followed by intensive therapy.
  11. I buy whatever mince Aldi have when it's short dated and 30% off - straight in the freezer.
  12. Try frying beef mince till it is popping (you need your pan hot) and all the fat has burned off - about half of it should be dark brown (caramelised) and when bits of meat start cracking and popping out of the pan it's about ready. This needs to be added to a prepared sauce already warming in the slow cooker - around 6 hours later the meat will have become tender again as it swells by reabsorbing liquid. To keep moisture in meat you normally "flash fry" it at high temp for a short time.
  13. Both procedures you mention are fairly minor, if anything they should improve your shooting. Where heart issues are concerned any medical intervention is intended to prolong your life so more time to do the things you enjoy.
  14. Very similar to mine indeed, I tend to avoid dry chilli flakes as they vary so much - a good handful of Scotch Bonnets are usually less than £2 and they freeze so easily, they also tend to spread the heat more evenly. One SB is usually enough in 500g of mince but 2 are palatable if you add lumps of butter to the rice and keep ketchup on standby!! Not tried Cranberry but I buy Mango Chutney in 1.5kg bottles for use in Madras so there's always a good supply. A good Chilli con carne is hard to beat and so easy to make far better than pre made sauces (although the Lidl version is pretty good for the price to be honest.
  15. I love them, dead easy to spot and I love to keep them chatting for as long as they can stomach my apparent stupidity or deafness.
  16. Looks very good, I always cook mince till it's popping and almost burnt (brings out the sweetness) then add the mince to the sauce is a slow cooker for 5-6 hours along with a couple of finely chopped Scotch Bonnet Chillies and a tblsp of Mango Chutney, the meat slowly absorbs the sauce and softens. The BBC good food recipe is very good with a few additions.
  17. I would change my Vet, afaik there is absolutely no proof whatsoever that Turmeric has any medicinal properties at all. Glucosamine seems to work on my boys (both 10+) but it takes weeks to see any benefit.
  18. No - that's the Air "Wolf" - this is the mechanical version, same gun but less hassle. Don't let this go on a whim or over £15 postage, these Rifles are utterly sublime and will put pellet on pellet until you get bored. If I had to pick a fault (and by God you need to look hard) it would be that they are totally dead upon firing - not sure if that is a fault though?
  19. Air Ranger/Wolf are just about the best Rifles Daystate have ever built.
  20. I agree with Stu + CO2 tend to make a nice crack when fired - kids love that.
  21. Can it not be adjusted?
  22. Thank God we still have a sense of humour.
  23. Reform got more votes than the Lib Dems yet only get 4 seats compared to LD 68 - how can this be in a democratic society?
  24. I think they will take eggs and chicks but are more opportunist than Crows that deliberately hunt them. We used to control numbers by shooting branchers but I lost the desire to do so many years ago. These days I tend to leave them alone unless they are causing a problem on drillings etc so maybe the answer varies from farm to farm depending upon crops etc.
  25. My Dog walker friend used to walk a Whippet every day till ,sadly, cancer took the poor creature. He was such an amazing Dog, gentle as a Lamb but he would join in with all the activities that other Dogs are better known for - he would retrieve a ball or search long grass for a hidden treat. If you are lucky enough to find a similar Dog you will have something that will bring you nothing but pleasure.
