  1. the public are so duped over this c**p-the "contestants" are all vetted before they even appear and the so called judges knew exacxtly what was coming the moment this lass walked on-listen to the questions that they ask-it varies depending on what they already know and have rehearsed.Simon cowell has made a fortune producing shows like these -i just wish they were more honest about the application process.
  2. Iwas heavily into airguns in the days of the "sport".I tried several of them and came to the conclusion that their popularity was down to the aigun world writers who used them as much as the guns themselves.Im not saying for one minute that they werent a good gun but i think that they are experiencing the benefit of nostalgia.Any modern pcp will make the gun look silly on both accuracy & power levels - i seem to remember that the original 45 finally finished them off ( the 45 was a superb gun that was very under-rated)
  3. hacking into peoples ebay account is simplicity itself-theres even full details of how to do it on you-tube.Only thing you can do is tell ebay as soon as you notice anything odd-dont bother trying to change your password cos it can be obtained in seconds (they have already probably changed it to prevent access). You might also like to inform your isp.
  4. next winter b4 you put her away-clean her up+remove spark plug and squirt a spoonfull of oil down the hole then turn the beast over a couple of times+turn the petrol off and drain the float bowl+pop the plug back in and wrap her up for the duration-my honda is 15 this year and fired up first time (as she does every year)-my next door neighbour is on her third mower since i got mine and that is on its last legs.
  5. lets just check that ive got this right-you shot the first one and its mate didnt hear the gun or the sound of the impact on its buddy who would show immediate signs that it was not happy-no.2 then just sat there while you reloaded and shot it as well!-did they have a ring on their legs? or do you breed really stupid pigeons where you come from- the pigeons around here tend to *****r off as soon as i pick up my gunbag-can you send some of yours this way?
  6. After a similar experience late last year i have suffered the indignity of offering free shooting and not getting a reply for the last time. One chap wanted to know if a .22 rimfire would be suitable for his needs and i offered to take him out and have a go on my land-he only lives about 20 miles away-no response after several weeks so he can forget it for a start.Second guy posted saying that after airgun shooting for a considerable time he wanted to try live quarry but couldnt find anywhere to shoot-this guy lives less than 15 minutes away.Despite posting a reply offering my land/help i still have not recieved the decency of a reply and have noticed by looking at his profile that he (and the first chap) has been on this site several times since.I sometimes wonder why i bother so i have come to the decision that i will not bother anymore. :angry:PLEASE DO NOT PM ME UNLESS I HAVE CONTACTED YOU IN REFERENCE TO THIS MATTER.
  7. As far as im aware the velocity of the shot only increases over the first 2-3 inches of the barrel-so its already slowing down by the time the gas reaches the vent holes-theres still loads of pressure present but not as much as in the initial discharge sequence.Whilst enough pressure remains to cycle the action its use as a propellant is over and its only use is in preventing a vacuum in the barrel. This would be very different if you were to try black powder cartridges!
  8. would it not be easy just to fire it into a telephone directory (preferably an old one!) and count the pages that it has marked -fire off 20-30 shots and then do the same again-cheap & easy test.
  9. my vote is with the cz-accurate and built like a brick chithouse.
  10. Ive got 3 at the moment-12g s/s hammer+12gs/s+16gs/s hammer-wouldnt part with any of them.Dearest one was £60!
  11. poor lads-probably came from a broken household and been dissadvantaged all their lives.Lets all put as much money as we can into helping them as they grow in a comfortable stress free social worker dominated enviroment.Perhaps they could meet and become buddies with jamie bulgers killers (details of which are still not fully published-but involved tying his hands together whilst hurling bricks at his genitals).Who knows-they could form a little club.Alternativley we could show them all the rope-I would b more than happy to do it if no-one else wants to-my pleasure.
  12. im sure that many people are happy with their purchases from the oxford gun company-but after they sold me a gun with pitted barrells (they were dirty when i viewed the gun) and then suggested that i had damaged the gun by using magnum cartridges when i rang the next day (ive never fired a magnim shell in my life) i would never buy anything from them again-stick to the guys at Stoney Stratford-better prices and service in another league.
  13. its to prevent pressure building up when the air between the barrells expands due to heat from constant firing.Thats my guess anyhow.
  14. totally lost my confidence in webley-its just badge engineering nowadays-Air Arms S200 all the way for me.
  15. just to make things clear-when this gun was first advertised it was priced at £500-this initially prompted the comment from isaac.
  16. didnt mean to offend anyone-just explaining why i thought isaac was making the remark-i paid far less for mine than the original price that this gun was priced at and dont expect to be reprimanded for saying so.
  17. just out of interest-is where you live in the name of the shop?
  18. im with njc110381-at least try an S200(.177 in my opinion) -they are perhaps the most accurate and most powerfull pcp on the market for the money. If you dont expect to do loads of shooting then get a stirrup pump otherwise get a tank from fleabay. One word of warning - if you do start shooting rifles regularly you may find yourself "aiming" your shotgun as a rifle and your kill rate may suffer-just something to watch for.
  19. the smell of some cartridges gives me a headache-winchester are the worst-otherwise get your blood pressure checked by your doc and mention the headaches to him. It could be a lot of things but hopefully and most likely something minor-good luck.
  20. dont think that any crops actually attract rabbits other than things like lettuce-i think that more important is cover/woodland.
  21. try using a normal washer but get hold of an engineers centre punch and punch little dents into it-you could also try using linseed oil on the thread as it acts like a shock absorber.
  22. Original 45-fantastic rifle in their day-my mate shot a fox stone dead with one at just over 20 yards.
  23. As bobt says-a decent used rimfire with a scope will be far cheaper than an air rifle and ,dare i say, a whole lot easier to shoot-its rare to come across a worn out rimmy and something like the cz 452 is simplicity itself.Again taking the cz as an example-it will bowl over bunnies at 100 yards (if correctly zeroed) all day and ammo is very reasonably priced. With sub-sonic rounds and a silencer fitted these rifles are almost completley silent but still deadly at the ranges you are discussing.Only downside against an FAC airgun is that shooting up into trees is a huge no-no with a rimmy whereas it is sometimes possible with the puffgun.
  24. i think isaac is talking numbers mate-i just paid less than £300 for an almost identical outfit-but i wish you luck anyway.
  25. like westcountryman indicates-ita a matter of personal choice-i stand by the fact that if i could only have one gun for the rest of my life at the price range of these 2-i would go for the Air Arms everytime-before you buy can you not try a few different guns at a local club or shop-i think that for the price you are looking at you are so near to a PCP that if you try ,say, an S200 you will want one enough to spend a bit more-or you could buy a used one and then get a tank from fleabay for about £60.Once you have shot a PCP i think you will quickly realise that these are popular for a good reason.
