    Parcelforce

ParcelFarce are a complete shambles, anything you send that needs a more than 50% chace of A/arriving or B/not being pilfered you have to pay for insurance, special delivery etc whereas in the old days just first class post would have sufficed. When you add the fact that the majority of post you receive would have arrived quicker had it walked and now the strikes, I would imagine that RM are losing thousands of customers every day. If you post 2 letters to the same place, on the same day and one is sent first class, recorded, signed for and the other is sent normal second class, one will arrive faster han the other, this ,surely, means that they artificially delay some mail ? Last 2 items I had stolen I rang to report, got exactly the same response each time - "if it happens again let us know" !!!!!
  2. Tell me Conor, do BASC still provide courtesy driven days for some MP's ?
  3. If you look back over the last couple of years you will find many threads where Stu and I have locked horns, he is the last person I would make excuses for.
  4. Take my word for it, Stu is a well experienced FAC user and is about as knowledgable as it gets on the subject, I think he may have posted without considering his exact meaning, most unlike him TBH.
  5. Let the people speak, are members numbers up or down?
  6. TBH, Stu rarely makes mistakes, he was, no doubt, talking hypothetically.
  7. Been pellet testing my S510 xtra (FAC) for nearly a week now, tried JSB Exact, Exact Heavies, FX and H&N but none are particularly impressive, scanning this thread earlier and came to the 2 posts above then remembered that I have a half tin of AA Diablo Field tucked away somewhere, dug them out, 35 yards (still conditions) 10 shots, happy days.
  8. TBH, looking at your reason for needing such a gun, I think that the Magpies will soon cotton on and stop coming after a very short while 🤔.
  9. Consider how many shots you are likely to need in a day, if 40 is enough then look for an AA S410/510 but the later regged version, the "xtra" model has a power wheel on the side so you can go from around 9 ftlb up to 28 ish, there is a way of making the unregged version work better but that's another story. I paid £250 for the one below but I've had a Lane Reg fitted which was another£140 all in. You will need to experiment with pellets as well, FAC guns can be fickle when you are asking for 70 yard kill shots. The above is regarding AA guns, UltraStu will most likely be along shortly and he's a mine of info regarding FAC guns.
  10. TBH, most Farmfoods own brand gunge is pretty poor. The Iceland stuff was ok.
  11. What spices did you use, I've tried just about every combination in the past and nothing comes near.We ended up buying doner meat in Iceland in the end.
  12. Cannot help but wonder how many seconds it would have taken the police to remove them had they glued themselves in front of the royal cortege?

    Choices

The Stutzen is all show, it's no better or worse than a standard AirSporter.
  14. Anybody glueing themselves to anything should have their trousers/underwear pulled down to act as a substiture for something to stare at.
  15. So, you're on the fence then.....
  16. Having bought a good few old English guns I asked my local gunsmith about this (ex Boss barrel maker), he said that the pressure on the barrels after the first few inches is negligible and that the tubes can be paper thin and still be usable.
  17. So, your contract is with your dealer, Range Right are of no concern to you and if they have one or one hundred gunsmiths is not your problem or fault. Inform your dealer, in writing, that ,in your opinion, a "reasonable" time to repair the gun has passed and you are rejecting the rifle under your consumer rights. As long as you have done nothing to invalidate your warranty then a refund or replacement is due. If the dealer refuses then contact consumer direct and follow their advice If you paid for the gun on a credit card then contact your bank and ask to start a section 75. Cases like this rely on you being "reasonable" if it goes as far as court (it wont) but best to keep everything in writing.
  18. I bought a MK3 not long after they came out, from memory they were the first Air Rifle with a RRP of £1k+. Rang Daystate with the serial number and actually spoke to Tony Belas, he assured me that my intended purchase was genuine and added that it was one of a batch fitted with LW Match grade barrels the best, in fact, that Daystate had bought to date. Gun duly purchased, to be fair it was accurate (but no more than my 2 AA S410's) and the trigger was sublime (best I've ever used) but problems arose when you held the gun upwards, as if following a Squirrel, and operated the bolt - pellets would fall backwards into the action and jam everything up. That would be your days shooting over as you had to strip the action to remove the pellet, this happened several times to me and ,following another call to Daystate, I found that this was a known fault, but they tried to tell me that pointing a gun upwards whilst cocking it was dangerous!!!! After a couple of visits to the gunshop, to clear a jam, I decided to strip the gun myself next time and was shocked at the build quality, some of the turned parts looked like Mr Magoo had machined them. Totally unacceptable quality and customer service.
  19. That's because your contract ,when you buy a gun. is nothing to do with Daystate, it's with the dealer. I thought Daystate were owned by Sabbati? They dont make guns BTW, they assemble them from parts manufactured wherever they can buy them cheapest, not a great recipe. The marque is regarded as the Dogs Danglies but for the price they charge there are far too many horror stories of poor QC, couldn't wait to get rid of mine, twice the price of an AA but nowhere near the quality/performance.
  20. Next time you buy spices try Natco online, postage is cheap and the spices are superb.
  21. Pataks do a great paste but the medium is only available in 2.5kg jars, you can get it for around £17 if you shop around, bought my last lot from Mulaco. I make my own but the Pataks is a great cop out and tastes superb, a lot of people dont realise that a lot of Indian Restuarants use Pataks products. Got a new jar coming in the next few days, can post you some if you want to try it.
  22. DITTO, Tonight I cooked Tandoori Chicken (Breast, 2/person) with Zuccini Sabzi, Basmati Rice for 6 people - superb if I say so myself and all from scratch. Total cost was £20 ish plus my time, love cooking so that's an added bonus. Onions I grow myself and Fresh Lemons from the fridge another 20p. Normally a £1 cheaper as I grow Corriander in the Summer, but I have to buy it this time of the year.
  23. OK, Steak mince 500g, spuds, peas and a cabbage = £1.80 + £1.00+.60+.55 if you add mash for the sheppards pie plus an onion add another £1, total of under £5, this will do 2 meals with loads of veg left over (this is assuming it's beef mince ,add another £1.50 if it's Lamb) so tops under £6.50 per 2=£3.25/day. Long time since I did maths but I think I must be somewhere near. I would cook the lot and freeze half.
  24. No way, if you do that every day that's £37.50, that buys a lot of food, what are you eating in the cafe typically?.
