I bought a foam camping Matt about £6 ish and cut 2 discs out and stuck them together,much better now. Atb Fielddweller

Could be many reasons but my guess is.Are you the only one with permission on the field? It could be that it's over shot,if it's been shot 4/5 times they generally don't return. I've 5 osr fields close to me and have all been over shot by various folk and I doubt you could shoot more than a couple,there were 2 guys shooting today and I don't think I heard 6 shots all morning. Not always easy but I try not to shoot the same field within 2 weeks,if your field has an adjoining wood try just standing still in it and shoot incomers at least that way you only need to carry gun and carts. Anyway don't give up winter is a hard time Atb Fielddweller

Its a cracking ground with some good targets due to its landscape. The only down side is a sunny day as all stands face that way,doesn't stop me going though. Atb Fielddweller

Popped out this morning to a local farm where the birds have been,none on the rape but 100 plus sat in trees.There was little wind only sun light to contend with and with no obvious flight line I chose a large tree on the edge of the wood facing out of the sun. My set up to start with was 7 dead birds on cradles and my whirly then added what I shot. Nothing for 15 mins then steady for a couple of hours and then nothing again so packed up. Total was 19 shot and picked for 42 shots of 29g 6s Atb Fielddweller

You only use one rod per bird,sounds like your using two.they come with two sets of rods with the thicker one for windier days. Atb Fielddweller

It's not unheard of them being stolen round here and I have seen some for sale at a car boot sale.A local farmer has had metal boxes made that lock every thing inside and are moved on tractor forks,seem to work. Fielddweller

I was going to go decoying today but rain and no wind put paid to that,so stayed home and earnt some brownie points.Decided to pop down to my local wood for a quick roost shoot,but with no wind they would not play ball so made for testing shots Finished with 9 birds only 7 in pic for 31 shots of 29g 6s Atb Fielddweller

Thanks for the comments guys. Pass d the same field this afternoon and it was covered ,don't usually shoot a field twice in a week but might give it a go tomorrow. Atb Fielddweller
