  2. I put an open hand out flat and push the end of his nose down just before he is about to jump up and shout down, this is uncomftable for the dog and they soon get the message. Dave.
  3. Nice looking dog mate, i have a couple of rotties and if there is ever any bother my little cocker just hides under there legs, she knows shes quite safe there. Dave.
  4. Good pics mate, nice looking dog. Dave.
  5. Thanks for the replys lads. There is alot of wildlife around, but of course all hunting is done within the law. As for how well the hounds are trained, they are not a patch on a gundog, but can be kept under a high standard of control, the hunsman can easily keep 16 1/2 pair of hounds walking at heel for as long as he needs. Will be more pics next season lads, or i might be out with Mink hounds soon if i get lucky. Dave.
  6. Nice bag there mate, roll on next season. Dave.

  15. I am pleased he did well for you with the ferrets mate, he is making a good alrounder and was marking the sets well last week, so i am sure he will be a good member of your ferreting team. Back out with the guns Monday night, hope you can make it. Dave.
  16. There seems to be a few of that cross about at the min, has anyone got any adults working of this cross ? Nice looking bitch hodge, will be intresting to see what size she makes. Dave.
  17. Good point about the gun shot mate, it shows how good he was under gunfire by the fact we forgott all about it. Dave.
  18. The Dog shown hunting with the long tail belongs to my mate Durhampointer who has just joined this site, his dog Alfie is i think about 14 month and coming along nicely. The Dog in the last picture with my son is Mack, he died 3 years ago, the picture was taken only a month before we lost him. He was only 9, he was fit as a fiddle one day then a had a stroke out of the blue, only lasted a month after that. He was a good worker in his day and an excellent family gardian. Dave.
  19. Was out doing a bit of training with DurhamPointer's GWP Alfie, DP started him on a 30ft line and he gradualy let him out until he let it trail behind this big lad. He was steadier than either of us thought and hunted close to us. DP making Alfie remain steady at a distance I managed to shoot a few eventually and Alfie put in some good retreives. He also came on Point very well. All in all a good start for Alfie and i look forward to shooting over him again. It was ironic as it was 3 years to the day i lost my GWP and here i was with a cracking example of the breed. Mack RIP Dave.
