  1. I was rear ended in August last year. He was doing 50mph I was stationary, he hit me on the rear passenger 1/4 throwing me into the centre of the car missing my head restraint and doing my back in. I had to stop shooting for a period and cannot lift anything including my kids. I now have to have physio every week and take strong pain killers. I have had to jump through so may hoops (not literally!) to get the insurance company to pay for my medical expenses I am amazed that so many go through. I've had to see 2 top medical people in the hospital who have had to do reports for me and the physio has to report every month. Am I claiming compensation, too bloody right I am, the time I have had off work to see people about my back (I only had 1 day off after the accident) Parking charges, general hassle of not being able to do things around the house, not being able to pick my kids up, the constant worry about if I turn in the wrong way I'll be flat on the floor. Just remember there are always 2 sides to the story, I just hope the talks that are going on do not effect genuine cases. Steve

    hotmail

If your already using firefox, then go a stage further and download Thunderbird from the same people. Setup your hotmail account in the software and when your pc is on the emails will flow into thunderbird and you won't have to touch the hotmail site. I run gmail through Thunderbird and it seems to work really well. Steve
  3. Just had a quick look at the secret hotels in central London Have a look here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=536015 It reveals quite a few. Had a look on last minute too and price range from £99 -£120 ish for the night in 4-5 * hotels. Not bad for central London where the premier inn is £170ish! Steve
  4. Yikes 12 lessons with Mike.....that's an expensive present you got!! I would go and have a play on some clays, if your hitting then all is well, if not perhaps a refresher lesson then get back on the clays again, when your hitting go for the live stuff. That's what I would do anyway. Sounds like your in Norfolk, why not come along to one of "Hitclays" clay shoots at Beeston (Nr Dereham) next shoot is next Sunday. Good day out with excellent targets and good banter with that! If you PM him he can lend guns too. Steve PS Not to put Mike down but there are some much better and cheaper instructors out there, don't get me wrong Mike is good, however I had 3 lessons when I started, he was the most expensive (by a long way), I got 40 mins off him (paid for 60mins) and I felt cheated. Used someone else and learnt loads more from him.
  5. Top tip. Go on last minute.com, look up the Secret hotels section. With a little googling you can find out using the description where the hotel is. my wife and I have booked a 5* hotel in central Manchester during a peak summer weekend for a lot less than the premier inn next door! Well worth looking at for London too!. Stone roses gig followed by a 5* night in central Manchester........game on! Steve
  6. Used one - yes Did I believe - Well I trusted everyone around the table Would I do it again - No Would I suggest others to do it - Only if you trust everyone around the table. In all fairness they are harmless as said above, however there was some really stange stuff being said that checked out afterwards (after research), ie dead soldiers who used the building with correct names being stated, I don't believe who I was with knew the facts and there was no obvious pressure on the cup in the middle by anyone. I was 18 at the time so much younger than now! Give it a try is my suggestion, it can be quite fun. Steve
  7. Discovery v8 LPG converted, for family and shooting. Alfa Romeo GT 1.9 jtdm for commute, looks and fun! Steve
  8. Closest/best I know of will be High Lodge. I think there is another just past Bury on the A14 but cannot remember the name of the club. Steve (who learn't to fly model aircraft at Rougham airfield)
  9. Good Luck! I'm 7 weeks into giving up again, this time I hope i've got it. It's been quite hard at times but I take every day as it comes. This time I made sure everyone around me knew i'd given up, including my boss and colleagues, this has made it easier as I can't turn up stinking as I would get an ear bashing! Last time I gave up (I told the wife I had anyway) but I just gave up when at home as I continued in the car and at work. Pointless really! I'm using patches to keep me on a level, then if it's tough or a meal time I have one of those puffer things. I have found this to work really well. 2 more weeks of stage 1 patches then I'll drop a stage. If you go patches, don't drop too early as it will catch you out. Now finding i'm hardly ever on the puffy thing, but I know it's there if I need it. Breaking the habit is the toughest, I used to smoke at certain points in my journey, after meals, out on the beers, high stress times. Just try to avoid these for a couple of months and you should get through it. Hope this helps Steve
  10. Nice one! and well done! Good luck for the future. Shames he's banned though! Steve

  14. First interview is "are you suitable for the job" Second interview is "does he fit in with the team" or "can we put up with him for a lifetime" Generally the second is more "in depth" deep questions, putting you into situations and how would you deal with it type questions. I've always found the 2nd to be the hardest and worst. So prepare well and understand their company and how YOU would be the best candidate for them. Steve
  15. I can't confirm yet as that is around the time i'll be heading off to Turkey on business. Will let you know nearer the time if that is OK. Steve
  16. That's tough. I was driven into the back of, he was doing 50 I was stationary. He admitted liability on the roadside his insurance agreed, so I'm quite lucky in that respect. Steve
  17. I've been through this recently, but managed to get my car back after 2 1/2 months, again they were waiting for parts to be manufactured. I was told to note everything down ie time off the road, tax costs and extra travel that you needed to do, this would then be claimed back within the compensation payment. I cannot understand why you have had to deal with the garage, you should only deal with the insurance company. My claim I have now taken legal due to my back injury from the accident, so I only speak with my legal team on anything concerning the accident, the insurance company after I took it legal built a brick wall up!! It's not going to help your matter, although have you suggested speaking with scrap people to replace the seat? Steve
  18. Best is to narrow it down to a couple, the most poular are Cannon and Nikkon. Then just fit with your budget, the more you spend the better features and lenses you'll get. Don't buy an expensive body and save on the lenses though, they make the cameras and photos, spend the most you can. I use a D90 with 55-80 and 300mm lenses this gives me a good setup for what I want (family and aviation) Steve
  19. FWIW I wouldn't bother with Sky BB, i've had them before, and althought they are cheaper with a package your service will suffer. ie slower speeds and outages. Must admit I changed back to BT and so far so good. Steve
  20. Send Alan a message he's on this site at "hitclays" he does lessons and runs an excellent setup at Beeston near Dereham 1st and 3rd sunday every month. Well worth the time, and not a bad chap to suit!! Steve
  21. Have you got any trees around the line? We had this, it was crackling for a week then went dead, a tree was rubbing through the wire, called BT and they fixed it within 24hrs. Steve
  22. Yep, will join at the next meet in a couple of weeks. Steve
  23. Just had an excellent few hours up at Jay's club. Nice bunch of guys and some good testing targets in the wind! Cheers for the invite Jay, see you tomorrow. Steve
