  1. The allowances for cameras are always limit +10% +2mph. This allows for variances in speedos in different types of car. So in a 50 that would give you 57 before you're paying for it. I'm also amazed when people go past me then slam the brakes on. Learnt that in my speed awareness course!

    Munich

Munich is a great place to go. Went there last year for a week with work. http://www.hofbraeuhaus.de Is a very famous drinking house, live brass oompah band and cheap and tasty large pils are to die for, plus no hangover the next day! If you want to eat there is a restaurant just opposite which has excellent meat dishes. The ham hock is huge and to die for. Enjoy it's a beautiful place, the underground is cheap and great for getting around. Steve
  3. Love lego. Still play with my 2 eldest boys who are 11 and 9. Just finished the large crane and now a digger! Great fun with the kids getting them to find the parts and following the instructions, then trying to figure out with them where they went wrong. We have also gained loads of lego from car boots and free ads locally, there are some serious bargains around. Look for the book of lego badass guns! Great fun. Steve (38 years old!)
  4. I got given a samsung 3 mini for work and it was a complete load of tosh, this was on EE. Kept dropping calls and was nothing but trouble. Switched the sim to my very old iphone 4, reception increased and data is excellent. My personal phone is an iphone 5, love it, never drops out but data is awful and that's vodafones problem in my local area. I think it is swings and roundabouts with phone choices, provider and location. Steve
  5. Next one is tonight ch4 8pm Steve
  6. That's what I heard locally. They were low and fast at the time with no time to call mayday. S
  7. It had been buzzing my house for the 2 days prior to the accident. (holt) flew down our house line at 2-300ft the day before. This one is a bit close to home. I'm glad it crashed away from houses. Steve
  8. Settings Privacy Location services - turn to off Hope this helps Steve
  9. But you're in it Stuart........how can it be a "dream" Lol Steve
  10. They have recently given the police more powers to decide what penalties you get at the roadside and upped the fines. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-penalties-for-careless-driving-come-into-force So it depends how serious the offence is deemed the more you will pay. Steve

    i tunes.

Just started doing the same. We had a PC go down and it lost most of my iTunes collection, my fault as I had forgotten to backup to cloud. The amazon system is great and I get the hard copy cd. I will never rely on iTunes. S
  12. Sorry but there is no point buying an ipad with a sim. People don't realise that you can teather your mobile to your ipad thus giving you network while out and about. (Unless you don't have a newish mobile) Use this all the time on my ipad2 and galaxy mobile oh and laptop! Had to explain this to a number of my mates now, and with the increase in data allowances on mobile tariffs makes it very easy and reliable and cost effective to do. Anyway back to topic, my wife has the newer ipad I have the 2 and the screen and speed of hers is much better than mine which made me very jealous! Steve
  13. Top tip. Look at last minute .com and look for the mystery hotels. I've done this a few times now and end up with 4-5 star hotels in central London for 1/5 of the cost of the usual prices. Usually you can google from the description and find out which hotel it is before you book. Steve
  14. Itaste vv is the best one I have found. It has a variable voltage so if you need more hit you can get it. Run mine at about 3.5v and it is great. Make sure you get the v3 version. I use the totally wicked liquid, apple flavour is very nice! Steve
  15. This one taken off the web always makes me laugh.

    Bad News

Unfortunately they were killed at a very dangerous point of the A47, where I had a very serious accident about a year and a half ago. I survived but they desperately need to sort that road out and dual it urgently before more people are killed. It's been a bad weekend for deaths on the roads in Norfolk, lets hope that is it for a few months. Steve
  17. Here's a video of a friend of mines Pitts python. Now this is a large model! Steve

    Snow

I measured 12" on the car I have not been using since the snow started in North Norfolk on Tuesday last week, my other car has been great in the snow, Not bad for an Alfa Romeo GT!!. We had a little thaw on Saturday, but it has been coming down thick and fast for the best part of the week now. The roads have been excellent though with grit in the right places, which has meant I can do my 50mins commute to Kings Lynn every day. (although it did take me 5 hrs to get home last Tuesday after the heavy burst.) Steve
  19. You'll get a nice new chipped passport which means when you come back into the UK you just scan yourself in, smile at the camera and the doors open. I come through Heathrow alot and I've done from plane to the carpark bus in 15mins before with no queues. Steve
  20. Got mine back in 5 working days this time last year. Steve
  21. Tom Tom is the best I've seen and used. I do a lot of travelling and I went for one of their live range which gives me up to the minute traffic info and routes me around any problem areas. They are easy to use and search postcodes and full addresses unlike some others on the market. Steve

    Airports

Top tip for coming back to the uk, get yourself the new chip passport. I do a lot of overseas travel and coming back into heathrow has been a breeze, plug your passport into the reader and 30second later your through pp control. I managed from the plane door to standing waiting for the shuttle bus in 8 mins and that included waiting for my bag. Steve
  23. Good going Wildfowler. I've done my fair share of RC flying. From heli's through to large jets and gliders. Used to fly at shows with the Large Model association around the country but got burn't out as i'd done most of it. upto 1/2 scale. Now i'm dabbling in RC yachts, 1m design and Marbleheads. Pitch up on Sunday for my first race meeting and won it, so looking quite fun for now! Steve
  24. I'm into live steam! 7 1/4" guage. Been driving steam for 31 years. Probably a little extreme for your question though!! Also done alot of OO guage.
