    Holkham Fair

I went to Holkham on Saturday, had a good shoot as I've not shot for ages on some really tricky clays, especially the D bird looper on the sport trap. Thanks to Hitclays for the effort of setting the shooting up. Went for a walk around after shooting, usual country show stands, reasonable priced food on the other side of the house in the small local produce stands, the commercial food stands were very expensive though. All in all enjoyable family show. Not geared up for shooters, but the money is in the family entertainment. Steve
  3. Oh yes, so it is, I missed the 300 lense! That's quite a good deal then! (Another Nikon user!) Steve
  4. Cheaper at Wex, with the cash back. http://www.wexphotographic.com/search/?q=canon%201200d A shop I trust as I'm local to it. If you're in the market for a DSLR look at their second hand cameras too. I picked up a Nikon 7100 £400 cheaper than a new camera and it's in mint condition with very few shutter actuations. So you could get more camera for your money. Steve
  5. Legends is the biggest show in the UK!
  6. You won't see a harrier in the UK anymore, they have all gone, only chance you'll get is in a museum now. They get 90 second of hover as the water used to keep the engines cool runs out after this. Question to the OP, how did you get on at Duxford?
  7. Head to the land museum end of the runway and sit on the bank. You get the take offs or landings (depending on wind direction) almost going over your head. Get there early though most people head there to save their spot. Don't sit next to the fence as you'll get swamped by people with ladders trying to take pics over your head. Take lots of drinks and food and stand your ground! Sit back and enjoy the show.......it really is fantastic, but very very busy. Don't expect to get out quickly, either leave slightly early or stay later and view the museum then. Hope this helps, I've been a few times and the best times were spent on the bank! Steve
  8. I had that few years ago. Got made redundant, I was on a 3 month notice. Phoned around and did interviews for 1 months, got offered a job, then had 2 months off doing what I wanted! Started my new job the following day my notice period finished! That was a great summer! Now I'm in a company that respects and promotes me. Much better off now! Less stress and more pay! I am glad it happened, but a nightmare to begin with. Steve
  9. Go pro studio is very good, you can do most things you want with it. What are you wanting to use the camera for?
  10. The Black does not have the LCD screen, however the Silver does, but the silver does not have the 4K quality! Catch 22 on that! To edit and adjust a 4k video you will need some serious processing power in your PC, otherwise expect to wait a few days for it to be completed! I'm sure it can be done, but I bet you'll switch to the 1080p and halve the time to render the video! Steve
  11. I've got the 4 black. Great video quality. Easy to use. Lots of features. I've got 64gb sandisk memory in it, and in fairness the batteries will run out before the card! I haven't used the 4k setting as I can't edit it or watch it, not having anything 4k to run it on. You'll need a serious PC to edit the videos too and good internet if you want to upload to the net. 45mins of 1080p takes me approx 4hrs to render on my 3 month old high spec laptop. Now the bad bit! Battery life is really poor. 1080p with wifi on battery lasts approx 40 mins of continuous filming, this is improved to 60 mins with wifi turned off. Downside of the black is it doesn't have the lcd screen on the back, so you have to use the app to make sure the camera is pointing in the right direction, this uses wifi and lots of battery. I've got 4 batteries now to make sure I can get enough footage. Accessories, depends on what you want to do with it. I've found and use various clamps, as I'm strapping mine onto steam engines. Best bet, decide what you want to do, then go buy the clamp you need. I use the Joby clamps from Argos. The heavy duty gopro sucker is excellent for flat surfaces too. Apart from the above I love mine! The night time time lapses you can do are just amazing. I just live with the battery but be aware of it. Steve
  12. If it's on Vodafone it will be locked to Vodafone. You can easily apply online through your Vodafone account to unlock it, which will make your phone easier to sell. It does take a few days to unlock. This is assuming your contract has run out on the phone. Steve
  13. Guy Martins comments on Facebook seem to confirm it certainly won't be him!
  14. Turn the brightness down, bet you have it above 3/4. This does use a lot of battery and gets hot.

    Nepal

I have a friend at Everest base camp at the moment. She is fine but shaken. Amazingly and worryingly she was also at base camp 12 months ago when the Avalanche killed a lot of the guides. I think the mountain is trying to say something to her. Steve

    Fuming

Try doing this. Worked for me when my battery went U/S after 4 years of perfect working. http://ipod.about.com/od/iphonetroubleshooting/a/Iphone-Recovery-Mode.htm
  17. Negative to the body will be fine.
  18. Chalk Farm, and Hitclay's shoot. Nothing in NN. Steve
  19. Hi Dave LOP is 373/14.7 which is standard factory. Ah and you're local too! More than happy if you want to come and have a look! Steve
  20. This is my gun if anyone is interested. Steve
  21. Another vote for Kelling Heath, it been winning awards recently. Personally I've never been, but I only live 5 mins away. It is also on the Door of the North Norfolk Railway, which can add a bit of fun. Weybourne village is a 20min walk away. But it does give you access to the whole of North Norfolk. Hope this helps. Steve
  22. I've done a fair bit of sailing. 420's at national level, lasers, more recently, RS300 (that nearly killed me!) all sold since my car accident which means I can't hike anymore. I've done a fair bit on yachts, as a coastal skipper too, got my hours up sailing Excelsior around about 10 yrs ago, she is an old fishing smack and competes in the Tall Ships Race. This year I'm off doing the Dunkirk little ships, taking my Dads boat from Lowestoft to Dunkirk and back which should be a good laugh!
