nice bag of pigeons again, you have done well on those fields. Shot a few white/cinnamon pigeons over the years, also a near white crow, the one below was shot some time back and its been in the freezer with the intentions of getting it stuffed but not got around to it yet, did shoot two near pure white pigeons on a big estate some years ago, on the same day, give them the head keeper who had them stuffed and mounted.

yep, you are doing well around you for pigeons on sown stuff, its been a none advent here as the fields have been far to wet but there's still time for the odd field of barley to go in, might get on a few blacks if they sow some maize around May. Good luck, hope you get a few.

True we all have our own ideas and think we know best but all I can say is after 60+ years of owning and training dogs I would not have let that dog go for another retrieve if it had run in 3 times in the first 8 or shots, but as I keep saying its your dog you do as you please and good luck. No criticism meant just friendly advice, hope the dog turns out to be as good as your last 2.

Regardless of you not being able to remember the exact process after 6 years, the police will obviously have ALL the details of your assault case. As I said earlier, the charge of assault is another question as it covers a wide area, it all depends on how serious the assault was and how the police will view it in regards you having a firearm. I think we/you have reached a point in this thread where more detail of your case will not help the outcome, I did suggest a well written letter but as you now have an interview booked with a FEO, I would just wait for your interview as they will be the ones who decide your fate, not us. you say its the first time you have taken your 11 month old dog and you sent her out 54 times on a retrieve and its started running in to gunshot a few times, well there's your answer “bit excited a few times” a dog that age is not rock steady, 1 retrieve in every 4 or 5 birds is plenty at that age, plus pigeons are one of the worst things for a mouth full of feathers. Its your dog, do as you please but if you carry on like that she will be running in to every shot before you know it.

First off, welcome to PW I am no expert on such things but I would imagine the depression is not such an issue, there are plenty of people who have been successful with their application suffering with such illness. I would not worry to much, the dog is only 3 months old and will likely grow out of it when there's more interesting things to occupy it.

Your be lucky to find a days shooting for 1 gun at the minute, never mind 4 or 5 guns, apart from that, the selling of pigeon shooting days does not stand easy with me.
