I'll have a drink probably 3 out of 5 weeknights, and pretty much guaranteed both days of a weekend, only of an evening though. But it's A drink. I drink Bacardi and Coke, not because I particularly like it (Whiskey is my poison) but because my body doesn't object to it.(I suffer acid reflux, alcohol can trigger it but, Bacardi doesn't seem to unless I cane it.) On a weekday, after dinner I will pour a glass which holds 3/4 pint more or less, it will have an inch of Bacardi and filled with diet Coke and ice, and that's it. Once that is gone I very rarely have a second during the week as I'm up at 5 the following morning and secondly I have no desire to go to work hanging. I think it's an age thing. Like Pinkella I really started drinking heavily at home in my late twenties/early thirties (as opposed to drinking really heavily in the pub!), a bottle of red a night, more if I had company, then I met met the firebreather and she too likes wine, we were doing 3 bottles every night between us, (and 20+ fags a day BUT I WAS FITTER THEN THAN NOW!!!), however, as the years went on, the really extreme sessions of plenty of wine, followed by 1/2 bottle of single malt resulted in ever worsening hangovers until finally I had to accept that I couldn't hack it anymore. I'm fortunate, no, we're fortunate in that we were both able to say, sod it, enough is enough, time to back it off and we can do so quite easily! We both still drink regularly, but to excess.... VERY rarely for me now. Tonight is a perfect example althoug as a change I've had a bottle of cider, won't be having another. SWMBO probably blows out once a month. I suspect I will drink less and less as time goes on now, too busy doing other stuff!

The owners of dogs that attack and kill someone could face life in prison under new proposals for England and Wales. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-23578561 So, it has been proposed that the above should become law. If your dog attacks and kills a human being, you as the owner could be sentenced to life imprisonment. Harsh beyond belief, or about time someone dealt with the owner as well as the dog? Discuss.

Which is perhaps why it's necessary to ensure potentially dangerous animal aren't able to come in contact with the clueless?

In the hide in summer, dark trousers and drab t-shirts, I have an olive one that I favour. When it gets colder but is dry then DPM gear because I have some and it's cheap, when it gets snotty then the Ridgeline gear comes out, it's plain 'teak' which is an olive/brown. I have never noticed any real difference in the numbers decoying when I take a DPM jacket off. I do have a Realtree 'fowling jacket which I bought thinking it was necessary. I was wrong and when I replace it the new one will be plain green/brown. Once again experience suggests the camo makes little difference, I used to shoot with a non camo'd mate and he had as many birds come over him as I did, whats more you don't feel a right Richard when you walk in the pub in a plain coat!

How many pigeons are shot by PW members 2013.

I think the ferals count so I make that 51 pigeons shot... New total should now be 8513 -
Anybody else using these? Been shooting with them for a couple of months and although it may be coincidence, I suddenly seem to be achieving a less acceptable clean kill ratio. Thought it was just me, but shot with a friend yesterday and the numbers were similar.

Potentially viable some of the time and a diesel generator back up for the rest. How would the installation and running costs stack up against main electric though?

Anyone had any dealing with UKSW returns?
-Mongrel- replied to -Mongrel-'s topic in Pigeon Decoying Equipment
Conclusion. I returned the said flapper on Monday, the replacement turned up yesterday, no quibbling, no questions, replaced and fast. I really can't ask for more than that and once the initial enquiry was replied to, every email was answered the same day. Spot on, well done UKSW and thank you. -
So are we basically saying probably not legal, but we're not sure, therefore time to call the FEO?

Should make a thread of pics from your perm. My big farm has some stunning views.

First things first. This is a hypothetical question brought on by a discussion I've had earlier tonight with a friend. I am under the impression that you cannot let a non-SGC holder use one of your guns while shooting with you on your permission. My friend reckons that because you have permission to shoot the land it is classified as 'your land' and as such you can legally loan a shotgun to a non SGC holder as long as you are in attendance. I've done a Google and looked at the BASC site and can't find any clarification...how much the Tanglefoot has to do with that may be relevant!

Wow! On all levels! Well done on selling them.

Left school on the Friday after my last exam at 16 years old. I started full time work in a shop that I'd been part time in at school, on the following Monday. Worked out what I wanted to do about four years later! Paul Hardcastle- N-n-n-n-n-n-nineteen, was number one in the charts when I left.

One this morning with the front of a Peugeot at 60 mph, its deed for sure!!! ...whaddya mean I can't claim that one? Oh alright then, 7692 still. -
I sincerely hope so, I really do.

+1, braid will definitely cut in and bunch up if you start trying to wind up the rod for big casts when used on a multiplier. Personally I use braid for lure fishing and wrecking off boats but mono on the beach.

You can only assume that there wasn't a sensible Yamaha deal on the table and he's been forced to take the best of the remaining options. My heart tells me it's a bad move, my gut tells me its a bad move, I just hope he proves me wrong on all counts and can actually ride the bike that nobody else can!

Mate, if that's the way you choose to read it so be it. It's not intended to be. At no point did I say I was gifted or grammatically excellent, I have a good grasp of the language, nothing more. Most of the people I know are as well educated or more so than I am and certainly more intelligent. The point is that, with the one notable exception, all of the less well educated ones I know are in less well paid, and less demanding jobs. If they are happy with that, then that's great....trouble is, most of them say that they wish they could get a better job. Some of them have gone back to education to improve their prospects as they have realised that their current standard is insufficient. Strength to their arm and all that, I have nothing but admiration for them. Nothing at all if you need one. Just saying that SOME people have one to do the things they cannot rather than because their time is so precious.

The Centurys are great rods and plenty of good secondhand ones about at sensible money. I use a Tip Tornado Light for all but my heavy ground work and I'd not swap it for anything else at the moment.

Having re-read it I can see where you are coming from, but as stated elsewhere, other than the first line, it wasn't specifically aimed at anyone.

Don't get me wrong, I'm in no way trying to put you down, you have obviously done well in what you do. However, most jobs require a certain level of literacy and without that level of literacy many jobs won't be achievable, they just won't get past the interview no matter how nice, decent, loving and compassionate they may be. I know there are plenty of people out there who are successful but unqualified...but I'll bet they've got someone to type their letters for them. I am very much aware that a handful of O-levels doesn't make me better than anyone else, and indeed, one of my best mates runs his own plastering company, is probably the wealthiest man I know, and left school without taking an exam but, he has a secretary. It's not conceit mate, it's living in the real world.

A decent rod will always make casting easier on the body with good technique. Bad technique though, and you'll always struggle regardless of kit, something overly stiff will make things even worse though. It does sound like it's a technique problem and that you are maybe trying to blast a lead just with arms and shoulders which will cause strain. A good cast starts in the feet and builds. Like shooting, it may be worth a session with a casting coach if you're struggling.

They had similar last year, guy was such a **** shot with the pistol he couldn't hit anything. He ended up coming back the following day with a rifle.

I use mine all the time for bass and pollack on lures, bleeding great! You'll probably get one for reasonable money now, I paid 120 quid a year ago and I'm sure they'll be cheaper now. Mind you, they were 189 when they came out!
