What is it with some people? In my original post I stated '... that I will favour members with a half decent post count, experience has shown that if you've just happened upon PW and decided to approach me, you are probably going to prove unreliable', so why the Hell do people think they can just send me a PM and automatically be onto a bit of shooting? Latest one is a Polish fella with a post count of exactly zero, and who's PM apart from contact details amounts to...'Hello,I have BSA R10 Mk.2 and I am BASC insured. I am member of Swallows target field club. I am experienced hunter with shotgun but in Poland where I come from.' Surprisingly I've knocked him back, as somebody said, there must be too many places to shoot in Sussex as I've had to put a couple of local lads who already have 4 perms on it just to get the ball rolling, but better that than a random who I can't even get a gauge of!

How many pigeons are shot by PW members 2013.

A quick 13 off a flightline this eve, not one of the beggars would decoy but a few unfortunates came closer for a look!! 9416 -
That body position is appalling! He'll never do well racing like that!

Ripped them from a site? Only this one good fellow, it was pure Copy and Paste of Goodo's post. I am quite willing to investigate further but, I believe the quote that isn't from the Bible should read as follows, "If a man has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him, his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town. They shall say to the elders, "This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a profligate and a drunkard." Then all the men of his town shall stone him to death." Call me pedantic, but I suggest we are talking about nuance rather than content! I note that you have chosen not to comment on the second quote, awkward one for you?

Ah, but at least they still have a viable Navy!

If I'm really shooting like a donkey, I put the gun down. Not to stop shooting but to reduce the amount of time I have! By the time you pick it up, mount it and get on the bird you don't have enough time left to over think it! Often works for me.

Bloody Hell, 1 for 2 is a very good average on pigeon I'd say, but at the same time I'd be upset with 1 for 4 too! In the middle seems to be my consistent average, I sometimes shoot a bit better and get closer to 1 for 2 but don't seem to drop off any more than 1 for 3. I can of course get picky about what I take and jack up the percentages that way, but half the fun of shooting is when you hit that screaming, crossing/incoming bird!

I have to laugh at this thread, but only because I've just had my first 'game shooter' turn up on our biggest farm. We've been shooting this one since last Christmas because the game syndicate hadn't been doing what they agreed to do...which was keep the crows under control. We've been regularly hitting the crows and now the pigeons and had some decent bags. Our Game syndicate friend turned up a few days ago with his daughter and spent the whole day over standing crop...for two birds!!! I have no idea what he was doing wrong but there have already been two 100+ bags off this field, it has 3 major flightlines running across/along it and the pigeon have been landing on the crop in their dozens. I was there this eve for a couple of hours and ground out a dozen...but the neighbouring farms have just harvested and I'm pretty sure that's where they are at the moment. It doesn't concern me, there are potentially a dozen of them, and even if they all turned up, they still wouldn't have the inside knowledge that comes with being on the farm at least 3 times a week, (often just for a recce, but I try and shoot once or twice a week) and while one or two may get into a decent day, they'll not shoot enough to make any real difference to me..

I was accused of being worse than a mongrel on heat when I was 18, it stuck and is my interweb moniker on all forums etc.

Not always that way though, one of our guys shot 90 last wedenesday, I inadvertently shot the exact same place on Sunday afternoon and shot 32, but it should have been closer to 50 or more, I just couldn't get my eye in for the first hour and to be honest they decoyed well.

If you are a BASC member, get on the phone.

Parking is a big sticking point around these parts, two properties = twice the parking space. May not be relevant where you are of course.

have BASC shot shooting in the foot?
-Mongrel- replied to gunsmoke's topic in General Shooting Matters
Partly to allegedly make roads safer, but they also state '....will also help to improve overall health and wellbeing, reduce congestion and could improve air quality.' Improvement of air quality allegedly achieved by reducing emissions. -
Hi Jamie and welcome to Pigeon Watch. I could probably give you a day or two on the pigeons in western East Sussex, or do a day with you on your land. Send me a Personal Message with your details and we'll see what we can sort.

Stubborn children were to be stoned, and the stoning was to be instigated by their parents ~Deuteronomy 21:18-21 If a man has sex with a woman on her period, they are both to be cut off from their people ~Leviticus 20:18 Oh go on then, put these into context for me in such a way as to make them acceptable.

Will they come and recover you when you pop down to London and break down on the M25?

Some of the comments are well worth a read, it appears that the beneficial management of the moors is understood quite widely.

JonathanL could be in trouble now...I suspect Mr Batters is better read in law than he and no amount of sniping or back peddling will save him!

So long as they don't try the UK's traditional trick for keeping the populace down, as that's going to war!

Had a couple of Sapphire Cossies, brilliant fun but not so reliable when you starting pushing 550+ BHP! My last one was Crystal blue with black leather, almost stock and MINT! it has to be said, I REALLY regret selling that car!

Sorry fella, its just that usually Gunwatch says at the bottom of the ad 'This gun is being sold by Pigeon watch member 'MitchF' ' or something similar, as it said you aren't on here, I assumed you weren't!

If you are planning on casting from the beach and don't know what a shock leader is/does. Please Google it until you do and use one. That said, with the lads with you, I'd be heading for a pier or marina. No casting ability required. Just flick it away from the structure a few feet and see whats there. Shockleader's still a good idea even if just to take the abrasions of dragging it up and down the side.

Do you know anyone who runs on waste veg oil, they'll use it as misfuel and cut it with the WVO?
