  1. I've had mixed dealings with Bond and Bywater:- 1.First gun I bought from them was brand new. Went to Stensby's to get chokes altered. They noticed a flaw inside the barrel. Straight back to Bond and Bywater - they were less than enthusiastic in taking the gun back and refunding. Gap of 15 years. 2.Bought a Browning 325 - got a good deal. 3.Went to trade in a nearly new Browning 525 - kept trying to fault the gun - "went over it with a microscope" - they could not fault it. Very disappointed by the attitude. Didn't deal and I won't go back.

    car mot

No you could not. If it is supposed to have one it has to work. Took my Discovery for MOT in 2004. Mechanic removed wheel to check the disc - he did not need to do. Did not tighten wheel nuts. Put them just on the thread. Left garage - first big bend - off popped the wheel - big crash. I sued them - decent settlement. This was his second time with wheel nuts. The third time - he got the sack.
  3. Markio - absolutely right. I think fibre wads leave more dirt in your barrels. They might look quite clean, but give them a good scrub and far more deposits are left with fibre.
  4. I prefer the handling of the Remington, providing it was not too short in the stock. Recent ones, feel too short. Beretta is a decent auto, but handling wise - not in the same league.
  5. http://s155.photobucket.com/albums/s311/Go...nt=DSCF0180.jpg 10 stone of fluff.
  6. Mike Meggison of Kelbrook sold me my first gun as an adult. Had one before as a teenager. The gun was cheap, but he has moved way up market since the Shooters Gunroom, in Blackburn. Nowadays - a bit pricey gun wise. Agree about Tim McAvoy. Never bought a gun there, but browsed a lot. No pressure - just didn't have what I wanted. Bought shells - cheap enough. Nice people.
  7. Only you can decide. Personally I would dump her. Ask yourself - "Will I ever trust her again"? If you can and, I would find that hard to credit, then patch it up. If you patch things up now, how long before it kicks off again? Rebuild your life with someone who wants you - not someone else. I could not live with the doubt.
  8. It really depends why you want to go to the shop. If it's for Guns, then Bamfords have the most (400), McAvoys have about a quarter, but are decent people to deal with. Other Gunshops - Bond and Bywater Preston, better still Entwistles at Preston - decent shell prices and guns / trade-ins are very fair. If it's a gunsmith, I would use Stensby's in Manchester or An RFD in Oldham (Cheap and very good). If it's accessories - Target Sports in Bolton, although I don't like the service or lack of it. Cartridges - GDUK Gundeals does Victory at very decent prices.
  9. I know the former owner of Malmo Guns - Malcolm - top bloke. Went recently - changed hands - for a 32" Trap gun. Phoned first - said they had too many to describe over the phone. Arrived to find less than half a dozen - Mate Mark said it was three. Won't be returning. Target Sports Bolton - not recommended. Shooting Shack - opposite Target Sports. McAvoy - not bad. Stensby - Manchester - very good gunsmiths. Few South Manchester. Graham GDUK who runs Gundeals Auction and Forum usually has a few guns and has plenty of shells.
  10. Remington 1100. Won most. Vostok has to be a close second. If you think about the two countries involved - no surprise.
  11. Coupe312 - I hear John is quite poorly at the moment.
  12. Stock made into adjustable - £85 up t'North West. Don't know prices in your area.
  13. Holmfirth Shooting School for clay shells.
  14. Get a Browning - made by Miroku, but different stock dimensions. £850 is just too much.
  15. £850 - far too much. Get a Miroku - for that money you can get an almost new MK38.
  16. Shame about Eddie, but there are a lot of houses - very close. He's probably been open for longer than the residents have been there.
  17. Not sure about worse than D and J. Not possible. Sellier and Bellot were around 15 years ago and not too bad. Haven't seen any since - are they old stock?
  18. Look on this site:- www.doublegunshop.com/showler.htm Winchester made the 101, Nikko, Shadow and the Parker Hale 800 series. Spares are scarce, but firing pins are available in UK. Most gunsmiths could make the spares at a reasonable price. It would have to be cheap to consider. They are very good guns, but out of production for nearly 20 years.
  19. Oozelumbird - hadn't heard about Claytime - what was the reason? Moorcock CPC, Waddington Fell Road B6478, Waddington , just outside Clitheroe. 250 yards past Moorcock Inn on the right. Decent people who run it - they are in Entwistles Gun Shop at Preston - Sam - from memory. There is another one - not been myself - just up the same road - 200 yards on opposite side - supposed to be very good - food etc.
  20. Not sure where tomoorow. Probably Rishton, but I'm tempted by the Moorcock at Clitheroe. Probably not the Moorcock - Skeet tomorrow. Might try the Dolphin.
  21. I'm a member of six Forums and this is the busiest.
  22. Ken Grimes (Owner) - his daughter shoots at the A6 - decent shot and nice lass. About three years ago, I went to Todmorden on a Sunday. No-one there. Asked one of the locals about the shoot. He said - "They shoot every Sunday". I said "It's Sunday today". He said " They're closed today". Never been back. Didn't know about the planning permission refusal at Rishton - what was that for? Surprised Eddie has never had noise complaints as he's quite close to a lot of houses.
  23. Oozelumbird Never had any one queue jump on me at Rishton or anywhere else. It will not happen. Everyone queues the same as me or they don't shoot. I've had the odd one try it on elsewhere. I have shot at Coniston - like the place, but last time, I shot like an absolute ****. I had difficulty picking up the orange clays in the woods. Blackpool is a good shoot. Not struck on Kelbrook and Worsley.
  24. Do you shoot at Eddie Threlfall's Rishton Club - 2 miles from Accrington?
