Hi Just bought a Hawke Airmax 4-12x40AO EV seems great to me only £80 from local shop

When I applied for my SGC it took 8 weeks longer than my wife's. This was because I put on the form treated for depression and I had been medicated for 6 months, the depression was due to Primary Hyperparathyroidism (you try saying that after one to many) anyway lucky for me the Firearms Officer had a close friend who had, had the same illness and understood the depression was one of the symptoms of PH and not the illness. Anyway I got my SGC but just took a bit longer, you will be ok.

Well having read this thread just glad I prefer Brownings to Berettas. EDIT should have said Browning O/U's to Berettas got 2 semis and like them just fine.

Just bought a second hand Falcon Prairie BM seems a good rifle prefer it to the AirArms S400 that I tried, just shot 11 pigeons around the buildings of the farm next door (only about 30 to go) but have only had it since Thursday spent Friday and Saturday getting used to how it shoots. So far so good.

Hey guys I only saying what has worked for me, I'm certainly not saying I do it every day I'm not that good or that consistant and I was shooting full use of gun. The reason I quoted various reports is because I am by no means an expert in ballistics. And no your not going to have more pellets in circle, fairly improbable as you are starting out with about 80 or so pellets less 280ish for 21grm No7 compared to 360ish for 28grm, but the 21grm pattern seems to be tighter for the amount choke applied as the pellets remain more round and aerodynamic. One thing I will quote in defense of lighter loads is that FITASC reduced there official load to 28grm from whatever it was before and it was recorded that there was no decrease in scores with 28grm. And I personally have found no advantage shooting 28grm (mind you could be because I am craep) Anyway this is my last comment in this thread have fun arguing the point I will watch with interest. EdSolomons You might hit the odd one but not consistently Yes your right hitting 7 or 8 out of 10 is only the odd one I supose :blink: Remember I am only using 21grams which generally means less pellet damage as they travel through the forcing cone, barrel and choke and therefore a tighter pattern compared to 28 gram and this is taken from 3 or 4 reports about lightweight cartridges in various magazines and web sites

55 yrds 21 gram cartridges 1/4 and 3/8 choke when (WHEN) I hit them they either split or smash no problem

My wife and I used to spend a lot of time sking together then I broke my shoulder and that put the mockers on that (advised not to ski anymore) . Then I took up shooting and Ann got interested (after a couple of years) was doing really well but she had a stroke last June and I dont think she will be shooting again, not due to any physical disability but just dont want to do it (lack of confidence I think). But we still do a lot of walking together. We also have friends who have bowling as a hobby (green not ten pin) Neil

If it the one I think it is I have been there a couple of times but never found it open. Its next to the Permit De Chasse exam centre and an Off road buisness. If your laser lites are the rhubarb and custard ones (red and yellow) they will be fine been using them for years and they reduce the noisejust fine. Mind you they are so good you can end up with a sore throat from yelling

Having shot at Arras and Orville I much prefer Orville and its closer to where I live. I normally shoot at a little Stand in the Canche valley (Flers ball trap club)and the guy that runs it was full of praise for Mr Digweeds performance at the Belgium Compak competition as a matter of fact most of the French are impressed by his performance.

Funny thing guns I have a Tula TOZ .22lr which I use for vermin control(wasclly wabbits)in the back garden (BIG back garden) and it seems happy with any thing I stick through it, except for CCI Blazer HV rounds which are very, very noisey cant hit the target at all consistantly got 320 odd sat in the cupboard good thing they were dirt cheap(2 euros for 50 Decathlon were selling them special)actually going to give them to my neighbour who goes range shooting with a 22 winchester type thing. Using subsonic CCI, remington and winchester all ok (and probably made by the same company). Sodit

I clean my browning completly about once a week probably 300 rounds through it, but the externals get wiped down with a oily(Legia) teatowel every time I have used it as I have what we used to call in the Royal Navy rusty fingers anything ferrous that I touch rusts very quickly (with mild steel marks after a couple of hours). I know, it serves me right for being a fat sweaty *******. The others are treated the same except for the semis where the trigger assembly gets cleaned about every 1000 and the rifles when I think about it or accuracy goes off.
