  1. To be honest at 4 months old I wouldn't be in a hurry to do anything! Keep her on the lead and introduce gradually, that way if she doesn't like something, depending on the situation you can walk away or praise and reassure.
  2. Hi Perce, yes she is steady (as steady as an 8 month pup can be lol) to a thrown dummy. Tom, I have thought about using treats but don't want to encourage her to spit the dummy in order to get at the treat quicker. Thanks for the replies.
  3. I have an 8 month old lab whose basic training is coming along nicely. She will recall perfectly without a dummy but when retrieving she will pick the dummy and run round with it. She will recall in with it but when she gets to me she will turn her head away, put her head down pretty much move round so I can't get the dummy. I've let her jump up at me and fussed her with it in her mouth but no matter how long I wait when my hand gets near the dummy she will move her head. I've tried walking away and bringing her into heel which she will do but as soon as she is at heel she will put the dummy down and walk at heel! Any advice will be gratefully received! Thanks
  4. Personally I don't shoot the hares on my permissions because there are very few and I like to watch them, BUT, if there are large numbers causing damage then they should be controlled.
  5. Thanks folks, .22LR it will be then. Just got to wait for the ticket now!
  6. Yup, i'm there on the Saturday....can't wait!
  7. Application has gone in for .22 rimfire. I was talking today to one of the licencing staff today and she says that when granted it will be for .22 RF and not specific (last time I has my FAC with the same force it was the same thing). So my question is this, what is the difference between LR and WMR. Last time I had LR but was considering WMR for the extra power for long range rabbits. What are the advantages and disadvantages over LR? Thanks
  8. Good luck mate, let us lnow how it goes!

  10. Hi all, Currently filling out my application for Firearms ticket. Last time I did this I didn't bother with a moderator (don't ask me why!). What would deem a good reason to have it? I was thinking health and safety, prevent noise pollution, something like that? Any advice welcome!! Thanks all
