  1. My be worth contacting your Union also as your PSD will probably get involved. I'm fairly certain that a firearm doesn't have to be disharged before an offence is commited. Sec16A of the firearms act is possesion of a firearm/imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. Just pointing a gun (and I would suspect anything which could be mistaken as a gun)would count as commiting this offence. Hope things turn out well for you though mate.
  2. I'd love to keeper it myself unfortunately its a 60 mile round trip and it would cost me a fortune in fuel alone! Plus that work thing gets in the way of precious shooting time.....its an inconveniance P.S, not sure why one of my words was censored, I'm sure I didn't swear

    Why is it

    Thats **** law for ya!!!!
  4. Congrats mate, nothing like coming home with a new pup!
  5. Great looking box! I'm sure mum and pups will be happy in there
  6. I wouldn't leave home(with a gun) without it.
  7. I think our problem is two fold, we've not had the cold weather to get the birds in the woods for warmth, and as its a DIY shoot and i'm not sure how much "keepering" the guns are doing. I suspect no dogging in occurs and i'm not sure how often their feeding round. I think this is probably the ****** factor but it sounds like my suspicions have been confirmed about the weather. Thanks all
  8. Just wondering if this mild weather during the season has effected anyone elses bird numbers? There seemed to be a lot of wild food on the shoot I pick up on and the bird numbers have been lower. I was wondering that without the cold weather they are not stopping in the woods for warmth and with extra food about its been causing them to wander?
  9. Well done mate, sounds like your training a first rate dog
  10. I'd use a rabbit with the guts exposed and an owl or another bird of prey decoy.
  11. Great write up mate, same as woodcock 1, never been fowling past the sea wall yet, but i've got to do it soon reading stories like this!
  12. Cracking video and an even better retrieve!!!
  13. Just been on magic maps, its great, thanks for the heads up
  14. Try Ettinsmoor Gundogs. She has working fox red labs line.
  15. Make sure you feed extra to as the dog will burn more calories in the winter. I don't use a heat lamp for my labs.
  16. Problem is no matter how intelligent, stylish, amount of drive, you couldn't compete in tests and trials if the dog was that good.
  17. Sounds like a good morning, and its reasurring to know there are gentleman still out there who are happy to help others, well done Oxford Fowler
  18. It makes smile, you can buy a well bred working lab for £400 to £600, but people pay more for a lab with no decent pedigree (either show or working)as a pet
  19. Thanks all, i'l give it a go and let you know.
  20. I guessed I would be starting a fresh but it has to be worth a try, they can only say no. Unfortunately I didn't keep a copy of my old FAC, and i'm not sure how long they retain the data for, i'm guessing after 5 years it may have been disposed of. May have to do a little research into MoPI and contact BASC. Thanks all.
  21. Hello mate, I'm from Ripley just over the border!
  22. Hi all, I had an FAC for 10 years for .22 rimfire, 5 years as an open. As I didn't get chance to use it much I surrendered it (about 5 years ago). I'm now shooting more and intend to apply again. My question is this, will I be granted an open ticket? Thanks Leigh
