  1. There's Rob daws in Eastwood. He's qualified for the retriever champs a few times and picks up on shoots so knows his stuff. He does (or did, I've not seen him for a couple of years) train near moorgreen. Very reasonable prices and very knowledgeable. Where abouts in Notts are You?
  2. I've seen his slips before and his others, real "beauties"!
  3. He looks like he's waiting for a cat to use that scratching post lol.
  4. This forum is a good place to start. Very often shoots advertise for wanting beaters. If not find your local shoots and try to approach the keepers but be aware it's a busy time of the year for them and might not have time to chat.
  5. £30!!! That's mega bucks for some shoots!!! As you say, we don't do it for the money. I agree though, it's good advice.
  6. I thought my wife had joined the forum for a moment. I just sneak them into the cabinet. Unfortunately it's full now and need another cabinet. They're not so easy to sneak in!
  7. Welcome to the forum mate.
  8. Welcome mate. It's always worth trying to get some beating or helping keepers out with jobs as they have a lot to do and it might just reward you with some shooting. But if not you'll get to see some great countryside and hopefully a beaters day.
  9. I agree, a fantastic trainer. I was fortunate to have some lessons with her through dove valley. Good luck and enjoy.
  10. Have you been looking for a trainer? We're pretty fortunate in the Midlands for good trainers.
  11. That's a cracking looking pup Dougy!
  12. It's a pretty easy guess that if it's a farm there are likely to be guns there. I don't suppose the criminals were too bothered how many they got.
  13. You're welcome. I look forward to the next one.
  14. That's a great video and a lovely little dog you have there. Out of curiosity where did you film it? Are the wind turbines in the background the ones near carsington?

    Ring ouzel

Sounds like it was probably a dipper. But to be honest, every time I go to matlock bath I get distracted by fish and chips!
  16. Sold to me!!! Great deal and a great bloke to deal with. Thanks Dougy.
  17. Hi Steve, I've tried it on both settings with the same result. Cheers
  18. Hi all, I have a Hawke lrf 600 which I bought second hand. When I use it, i press the button for the laser to work but I either get no reading or I get a reading that is obviously inaccurate. Ive tried changing the battery but it has made no difference. Am I likely to be doing something wrong or is it duff? Can they be sent away for repair? Cheers
  19. No problem mate. I've done my duties after work.
  20. I'm not there tomorrow cause I have to work but I often go week days if you fancy it some time.
  21. I always wanted a hw80 like John darling used to use in airgunner magazine. Never had one.......yet!
  22. FT is pretty technical and pretty expensive if you get into it but castle is a good club. Codnor club at Dale Abbey is more relaxed and more for plinking and is also a good club.
