  1. Saw one in Aarons in Brighouse a while ago, looked nice. Can't remember how much it was though, fixed choke too much choke for me
  2. I'm considering rubbing it so it goes satin as it's a bit too shiney for my liking
  3. I did my Baikal with true oil as the varnish applied by the previous owner was wearing off I stripped it and wire wooled it and stained it but I only put one coat of stain and it looked dark enough to me but it seems to have lightened up with the loads of coats of true oil still looks loads better than it did. I also fitted a rubber butt pad as the origional one was a thin plastic one. True oil wasn't what I expected, I expected an oily sort of finish but its like varnish
  4. I bought a multichoke Baikal o/u for my first gun under £300, light use, it does me If you dont have beretta money, you get what you can afford
  5. I've done that with my Mossberg, hit my nose with my thumb. Haven't mesured it but as far as I know its standard.
  6. This link was posted before on here somewhere and I saved it coz it might come in handy but also only a few miles from me http://www.peterdyso...PINS.html#aS541
  7. I'm lucky at the shoot I go to it's only 10 mins away from my home and they don't mind autos and pumps though only 2 shells in when on the stands. The practice stands are diferent they dont seem to mind multi shots on those as I've seem multi shot pumps used and no complaints. I myself have a Baikal o/u a Browning gold sporting clays and a Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag pump. As I shoot for fun not for score (I'd probably be mildly annoyed if I kept score) I change guns according to my mood, if I'm on a stand and theres no Q's behind then I do the "pump action challenge" to see if I can hit multiple pairs that I hit with the auto puts a smile on my face
  8. Looks a bit modified, also smaller than the origional one, better with the std larger one I recon. On it when I bought it, never noticed, but it works ok
  9. Seriously though, my Mossberg 835 with Mossberg cable lock and non standard fore end (Remington) In the pump club
  10. I still remember 'em from years back <shudder>
  11. I ended up with a Mossberg 835 31/2 magnum I have 2 chokes 1/2 and skeet and so far I only shoot clays. I call it the pump action challenge to try to get a pair (I shoot for fun) Havn't fired any magnum cartriges yet.
  12. I had a red and black one 612s sporting and if it wasn't for the strange manufacturing fault I would still have it although the barrel was 30" and the choke added another inch so it was a long un. I put a few hundred shells through it and did well with it just normal clay shooting, nice to shoot. People assumed it was a Winchester. It was almost new in the box (cardboard) with all the bits for £350 Sadly it had a gas leak where it shouldn't have
  13. All the RFD's I've used near me have either a 3 month or 6 month g'tee on used guns. I was lent a Miroku at a clay ground once and that came open when I fired it, can't remember the model but it was an o/u and fixed choke might have been a trap gun.

    marmite

I love it in sandwiches, on toast, in stews what ever it goes with but I don't like Twiglets except perhaps if they are dipped in Marmite A mates Mrs hates it but comments on how much nicer stews are when he makes them, but she doesn't know about the dollop of Marmite that goes in it
  15. I had an Armsan (£350) with the red receiver which looked and worked good I hit stuff, but sadly it was a friday afternoon gun that had a fault and had to go back. Then later I managed to find a nice Browning Gold sporting clays for very near your price range. I decided I like the speed loading of the Browning, although its easier to go through your cartridges quicker
  16. Yea used a bit of youngs 303 on the moving bits
  17. I took that pic before I'd cleaned it and it was a bit mucky in there after 200 shells, Just wondering if the gap should have wood in it.
  18. Hmm being in the motor trade that stuff is readily available, Cheers I also got Q20 lubricant which is recommended for firearms, got a small tin off the rep should last ages
  19. I used a small piece of copper braid on the end of my finger and it cleaned it off a treat after soaking in 009 then a thin coat of 303 over the moving bits and back together. Checked the spring in the piston and it was fine.
  20. over 200 today Eley first and Kent velocity std clay carts can't remember the size will have to look. I've also got a Mossberg 835 pump 3 1/2 magnum, I like that too and it's only had Eley first and Kent velocity through it so far
  21. Did over 200 shells today one of the instructors even borrowed it for a novice who was having trouble with o/u recoil and it behaved without a problem.. Thought I'd clean it before taking it back as its on loan at the mo, those burn marks on the magazine tube are really stubborn after 200 shots. I'm soaking them in 009 on a cloth to try and loosen them, green scourer is tempting but I'm not using it unless its recommended to.
  22. I'm in the process of cleaning it and I was wondering if anyone knows if the wood on the fore end is suposed to have a gap in it? As normal or repaired?
  23. I do on average 200 shells a month and so far I only do clay shooting. I noticed it has a "special" piston I was saving for a s/h Maxus but I'm not quite there yet so this one is like a Maxus but cheaper I saw a Beretta at another gunshop near me but when I went back it had gone I've had a search about the spring and it seems to affect quite a lot of brownings including the Maxus and I quite liked the look of those.
