You could try the Merevale Shoot in Atherstone or Arbury Hall in Nuneaton. Both large commercial shoots of that's what you are looking for.

Buy a good low mileage second hand RR and locate an independent Land Rover repair shop, there are quite a few around. They have the LR tooling, diagnostic software, software updates and access to LR tech support. These guys really know their stuff as it is there main business and very often they are LR enthusiasts. When I lived in the Midlands I found one about 15 miles from where I lived, now I have moved to Herefordshire I'm about 3 miles away from one.

Correct...not only that but the Range Rover Vogue L322 2002 to 2012 was designed by BMW engineers in Munich.

So my experience with the Range Rover Sport (basically a Disco III under the body) is bought one New in 2005 did 70,000 miles no issues. Traded it in 2008 for another one did 132,000 miles in it to 2017 only failed item was a new compressor for the air suspension which cost £600. Traded it last year for a 2007 FFRR Vogue 3.6 TDV8 with 49,000 on the clock, it runs and drives like dream. Considered taking out warranty but comes out at about £1000 a year. So decided to take AA extended breakdown which gives you £500 to cover cost of repair for up to 5 claims a year, which costs me £26 a month for the RR and my wife's Volvo.

I don't have a shooting related plate, but I have had a BASC sticker in my 4x4s for years never had a problem when I was living in the Midlands. Even less likely since I moved to rural Herefordshire. Everybody shoots round 'ere. Go for it.

I wouldn't be so laid back about some of these proposals. Trophy hunting could mean UK Deer Medal heads......not my cup of tea but a big issue for a lot of UK based stalkers. The ban on INTENSIVE (need to understand their definition of this) game bird rearing would also hit all the small syndicates and farm shoots who just put down 500 or 1.000 birds a season. I'm with you on the big bags on commercial shoots but a complete ban would hit all shoots. Perhaps a legal bag limit ought to be introduced of say no more than 150 birds per day.

So you will get a lot of replies on here some saying avoid like the plague others with a good experience of them. Mine is one of the latter. I had one of the very first ones a new 2005 TDV6 S ran it for three years did about 60k miles not a single issue. Traded in 2008 for a new 2008 TDV6 SE which I have done 132,000 miles in and just traded in for a Range Rover Vogue, because I have always wanted one and managed to pick up a 2007 model with only 49k on the clock. The 2008 Sport which did 132,000 was a great vehicle, the only real issue / cost was for a new air suspension compressor at about 110k miles which cost me £600 to have fitted. Other than that only wear and tear replacements like brake pads, discs, the odd suspension bush and steering bush just run of the mill stuff. They are great vehicles both on the motorway and off road with the right tyres, I had General Grabbers AT2 on mine. You need to do your homework though number of owners, full service history, if it has dealer stamps on the service history call the dealer, I did with my Vogue I bought and they told me every thing they had done on the vehicle since they put it on the road. Really helpful. If you are looking at a mileage in the 80k to 90k range be aware that the timing belt needs changing at 105k on the TDV6 not sure about the petrol. What I would also add is find a local independent Landy specialist who has the tooling and diagnostic software and who subscribes to LR Tech Support. These guys usually know their stuff and are a lot cheaper than a main dealer.

I have finally sold my 2008 Range Rover Sport after 132,000 miles of reliable service. This now leaves me with a custom made Lintran dog box and Transafe secure rifle storage system that I want to sell on. The dog box takes up two thirds of the load space and is big enough for a couple of Spaniels or a large Lab. I have had two HWV bitches in it that travelled quite comforably for a couple of hours. The Transafe system is more interesting. It takes up the remaining one third of the load space. It has two lockable drawers with black metal checker plate facings. The top one is for ammo, rifle bolt and other bits and pieces. The bottom one has a sliding drawer that extends out to about 60 inches when the single back seat I'd folded forward. Making it a safe a secure storage space for a rifle. The Transafe unit is topped off with an open storage tray for holding various bits and pieces when working in the field at the back of the RR. The setup is two years old and cost £1,200 new. I am looking to get £600 for it, so half price really. It's in good condition and is a great piece of kit if you are a shooting man with a dog and need to transport rifle and ammo safely and securely. I have had two rifles in slips in the rifle box, although it is a bit of a squeeze depending on how chunky the rifle slips are. It takes a single rifle and slip comfortably. The unit is custom designed by Lintran for any Range Rover Sport made between 2005 and 2013. I am in Herefordshire near Malvern and would suggest it would need to be collected so it can be fitted before you drive away. If you want to see if it will fit another vehicle then the measurements are below. Width at back 107 cm Width at front 107 cm Depth - front to back 94 cm Height - dog box. 80 cm Depth with rifle / gun drawer extended 165 cm You will also need to make sure that one of your seats folds flat to extend the gun / rifle drawer forward.
