  1. Has anyone got or used the above? I recently purchased a HIKMICRO Thunder ultimate set up but have read that keeping zero is not that good, and accordingly, the Rusan system is much better. It's not cheap though.
  2. A few days ago I noticed that when I applied the brakes on my vehicle, sometimes the brake pedal felt hard to press and I also felt slight movement on the clutch pedal. It only happens now and then. My vehicle has just had a service with no faults etc found. It's under warranty but I wanted advice first before reporting it, if anyone can suggest something.
  3. I sold a rifle and ammunition to my mate. With regard to the ammunition, I entered the calibre and quantity and stated 'gift'.
  4. I certainly would have, had I known.
  5. The above gentleman has sadly passed away at the age of 67. R.I.P. George.
  6. Many moons ago, I ordered a hunting DVD from a company called Zimbi Books in South Africa. I paid using my debit card and of course, had to give out the 3 numbers. All was okay, the DVD arrived, but 3 weeks later, I went to pay for fuel using my debit card for the first time since the DVD order. The card was declined, but luckily enough I had a credit card to use. I contacted my bank who informed me that they had frozen my card owing to suspicious activity. I was asked if I had tried to puchase £800 worth of diamonds in South Africa, to which I said no. They replied that they thought that this was the case, and any 'unusual or 'large' amounts of money via my card, flags up on their system. I have had my card cloned once, using a 'hole in the wall' and entering my PIN. Within an hour, £300 was taken from my account in two separate transactions, and these were in Aberdeen! I did get reimbursed by the bank.
  7. I've done this for years. As far as I'm aware, the only way that someone can remove money from your account is if they have your PIN number. I've never had any trouble.
  8. We've just returned from a few days at the above 'pod'. It was excellent and we enjoyed being there, especially as we took our dog 'Meg' with us. The area is Henllan Cardiganshire and from there, we drove to a few places of interest, the best being Aberystwyth. It really was a relaxing few days away, something that I, personally needed, due to the stress of my job. Anyway, I can highly recommend it if you are looking for a quiet break away. https://www.cabanteifi.co.uk/
  9. It's me, and I'd be more than happy to cover the postage. Thank you. Thank you.
  10. Yes you are correct. The 'ultimate' package consists of a thermal spotter, a front add on and also a stand alone scope. Everything is included. I chose a 40mm scope clamp with fits up to 50mm and then another 50mm one to fit up to 58mm. I have read that there's a sytem called Ruson scope clamp and reducing ring. According to the write up, it's a better system as you 'won't lose zero' if adding/removing the front add on. Not cheap though and I'm looking into it. I plan on using the Thunder as an stand alone scope on my .22 Hornet and then a front add on for my .243/ .204.
  11. I use the two point rifle rest(very good) and/or my hog saddle clamp. With the two point rest, I have fixed velcro fasteners to it to wrap around the rifle and hold it in position. I'm then hands free, as with the hog saddle.
  12. Yes, I agree that it, in itself, is not taxed, but as it's extra 'income' it affects my tax code etc. It's unfair that, as I have decided to continue to work, the state pension is taken into account of earnings. It should be completely separate and tax should only be paid on earnings due to being employed (this will never happen of course)
  13. When I checked on my NI contributions, I found out that there were a few years that they hadn't been paid. A couple of them were due to my very first employer(I was 17) not paying them, and a few more when my EX wife didn't pay them when I was self employed for a few years (she did the books etc) but I still had enough years paid in to qualify for the full amount. Now aged 66, and still working full time, I get the 'fantastic large amount' of £815:40 pm, but thjis is class as income and as such, is added to my wages and taxed. I no longer pay N.I. contributions, but I'm taxed a hell of a lot out of my monthly pay.I do think it's unfair that something that I've paid into for 50 years should be taxed, if I'm still in employment.
  14. Yes, firmware is up to date. I've received a message via the HIKMICRO Outdoors site which stated that 'close' is actually one of the settings for the reticules (switch off) but I can't see how to select other reticules. The instruction booklet that came with it is pathetic. I've printed off 18 pages of instructions(there's loads more) off the internet that explains things in more detail. I'm going to check it later.
  15. Does anyone own the above? I am having a problem trying to find what reticule to choose. When I go through the menu, and then 'click' on 'Reticule', all I see is a 'Close' message in the top left corner of the screen and cannot continue any further. I have to swich the power off and then back on again. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong (?) Mine is the Mk1 version if that makes a difference. Any advice/help appreciated.
  16. The Primos trigger stick has a 'universal' size camera thread which hsould accept 99% of add on's. I presume the BOG clamp has the same thread size.
  17. Selling on behalf of my mate. 100 of the above cases, once fired. I have deprimed them, full length resized them and wet tumbled them. £43:00 inc signed for postage. Now reduced to £35:00 inc signed for postage.
  18. Thanks. I've used my thermal spotter to identify many animals including fox. sheep and rabbits. I'm hoping that when I attach the Thunder to one of my rifles (possibly my .22 Hornet) and get it syncronised with the scope, all will be good. That's the main reason I bought it. I can fit it to other scopes as long as I remember the 'X/Y' settings for each one.
  19. For sale: The above rail that fits the CZ527 (16mm) dovetails. I purchased this off a PW member but I require a longer Picatinny rail. Sell for £35 including 2nd class/signed for postage.
