  1. A work colleauge asked me what, on average do I spend on 'shooting' a year. I couldn't give a exact total but explained that withough purchasing 'expensive' items such as firearms, scopes, etc etc, it would only amount to less than a few £100. He commented, what a waste of money just for something to go 'bang'.' I then asked him what he spends on cigarettes and alcohol per week/year (I don't smoke or drink, neither does my wife) and, after working it out, he replied, 'around £8000 (that's not including his wife who also smokes/drinks) and I replied, 'what a waste'! I said to him 'each to their own',. I've worked to the best of my ability since leaving college, and have paid my way in society. I've paid off my mortgage many years ago, my wife and I have a new car each and we holiday abroad twice a year, and if I smoked/drank £8000 + a year, I would not be able to afford all that I have and do now. He went quiet after that.
  2. 2 hours later, she said it was okay.
  3. After I had the 'snip' and was healed, I then had to produce 'samples' so that they could be tested to see if they were 'clear'. I took a 1ltr clear plastic container with slightly diluted wallpaper paste to my local hospital and handed it to the very young and pretty receptionist, and said, 'it took me a while but here's my sample for testing'! Her face went very red!
  4. I ended up back in hospital for 2 days, as I was still bleeding.
  5. Mine was done at a 'cottage hospital' by a trainee surgeon who was supposed to wait until his mentor arrived. After cutting me twice and me nearly jumping off the operating table, he decided to give me a general anaesthetic, despite me warning him of a problem this may cause. I ended up with many stitches and a day later a huge haematoma in my 'sack'. After consulting a solicitor, I ended up having a very nice large sum after sueing the NHS for negligence. I won't have it done again that's for sure!!!!
  6. We have x2 entries. We have won 4 x £10 (£80 total) in the past two years. Monthly charge is now £12.
  7. I had an issue with this many years ago. Luckily the FEO could see who (not me ot the RFD) made the mistake.
  8. £11000 for me (so far) and the 2 wins yesterday were the first for just over a year.
  9. Having not won anything for well over a year (I've got £11000) worth, and then only £25:00, I had an email today stating that I have just won £125 (£100 + £25) on two bonds.
  10. We are spending a few days here soon and looking forward to seeing what's about.
  11. I've never tried it to be honest, but anything is worth a go. Thanks.
  12. When I'm out shooting, my knife/knives are kept in the boot until I reach my permission/s and opposite on the way home.
  13. I didn't check inside the bag, Gordon, otherwise I would have ended up buying (another) one.
  14. I have mine too, plus another one that I've put away incase something breaks etc on my other one. Unlikely though.
  15. I subscribe to the magazine and was informed that my remaining sub's will stay the same. If they increase in the future then I for one will not renew them.
  16. I only take Co Codamol 30/500 when I need them. The strange thing is, I can walk a good few miles and only at the very end my knee starts hurting. It hurts more after sitting down for some time then getting up/ The first few steps are agonising and then it eases slightly. My work involves sitting quite a lot/getting up so this doesn't help my knee. I have suffered with constipation through taking the CoCodamol but as I said, I only take them when absolutely neccessary. When visiting my GP recently, he said that he would put me on the waiting list for a replacement knee, but it would take upwards of 5-6 years (I'm still waiting to see a NHS consultant regarding my hernia which I had 3 years ago and ended up paying privately. I could pay for a knee replacement at around £16000! I have always wondered why humans cannot have cartlidge replaced to grow, just like the Supervet does with animals.
  17. Selling on behalf of my mate. 100 of the above cases, once fired. I have deprimed them, full length resized them and wet tumbled them. £43:00 inc signed for postage.
  18. These ones are much bigger (height wise) I was tempted to buy one but I have already got a brand new green one (as a spare) that I bought last year.
  19. Yes they are. They are bigger than the ones sold last year (and dearer) but very good quality.
  20. To be honest, I love using my Vulpine Mk3 NV with a Solaris SRX ir, but I've always fancied either a dedicated thermal scope or an add on.
  21. I'm on the verge of purchasing the above at a very good price (a few £100 cheaper than other dealers) and would like to know if anyone has used one, especially as a front add on? It would be mainly used on my .243 for Fox, and, if possible (I realise that I would have to adjust the settings) it would also me used on my .22LR. At present, I use a Vulpine Mk3 NV in conjunction with a Pulsar Key 30 thermal spotter, but have always wanted to own a thermal scope/add on. Any views/comment on this would be most welcome. Thanks.
  22. The above actor has passed away.
  23. I use Primos Gen 3. Not sure what the difference is between the Gen 2 model, but I've had these for a number of years and they have been excellent. I attached a hog saddle clamp together with a Manbily KM-0 swivel head.
