I go after foxes at first light as well as lamping them. I find that I can get almost as many by daylight as by lamp. Don't know about rabbits though, I don' t shoot them when out lamping the foxes.

I went on Sunday. Pre booked the tickets so ' had to go '. I was disappointed that there were not so many trade stands there as there was last year ( or is that just me thinking that? ) Anyway, don' t think I will visit it next year, 250 mile round trip etc etc, not worth it.

Don't know if anyone is going to the Highclere Castle Gamefair on 27/28th this month. I went last year and thought it was okay. Going again this month.

Nice one! I have used old bread while out on the farm and it works for me too. Keep up the good work.

Welcome to the site. Your Lanber Sporter should give you many years of enjoyment. I have had mine for over 9 years and have shot many hundreds of crows/pigeons with it.

Chris Green normally visits and demonstrates in the bigger gamefairs. He sometimes has a retail stand as well.

After gutting and skinning the rabbit, I cut it in half, going across the rib cage. Then I cut between the back legs, splitting them into two pieces, and the same with the front. I then have four good pieces of rabbit, nothing wasted. As long as you clean it properly ( I soak mine for a few hours in salted water ) it will be okay.

Slice around the skin at the base of the tail. Use a thick boot lace, wrap it around the base and pull. You should have the tail off minus the bone.
