  3. I have heard quite a few stories on that can of worms. The truth i could not say .But i do believe that there are liars aplenty in the shooting world as anywhere else
  4. The true stats on icelandic greys , if they were to be in decline , will be ignored or dismissed , ridiculed or washed over. Its been this way as long as i can remember. Anything that stops the trigger being pulled ,or money being made from same ,is a deniable quantity. You have wildfowlers that are genuine about conservation and you have others who wear the same gear and mimic the actions of conservation but we are not all birds of a feather and i certainly have no wish to flock together with the latter for any reason.
  5. I thought i heard some a few nights back but put it down to wishful thinking
  6. Agreed its very disturbing.I feel strongly that once the masses congregate at Montrose they will have a really bad time with bird flu.If that happens i will end my season on geese as they will have enough to deal with.
  7. I had mallard flighting at a reasonable 30-40 yards stone dead with #5 steel..i think it was eley vip that id bought as i could not get my gamebore 3" i usually used in the 12.They were perfectly fine for the job.my homeloaded 20 rounds should do the same at the same distances

  10. As i mentioned earlier politics in eastern europe, specifically politics geared round centralised government can unravel fast when local far right political parties are seen to support local interests more that the central regime.Ive seen that before. Those that think the far right is a myth need to realise that the far right in europe is absolutely not dead, dormant, but very much alive. It thrives, and grows in strength covertly feeding off those who feel left out of things ,those who feel disenfranchised when it comes to their futures. I will point out that these far right groups slip in to local affairs using public events ,rock concerts and local civic pride affairs to show their affinities.I saw that first hand .quite vile.i witnessed thousands doing a salute that should never have been done in europe after ww2 and it sent shivers up my spine. Whole families participating btw -not lone wolf lee harvey oswald types, just the familyS next door with their right hands up in the air.Hot dogs and happy happy dancing with national tv filming it all quite contentedly. That was 30 years ago.If the same thing was happening down in the Donbas i am not too surprised that things have escalated the way they have.
  11. The minsk agreement is very seldom mentioned in the media Rewulf.Parts of this read as follows: Constitutional reform in Ukraine including decentralisation, with specific mention of Donetsk and Luhansk. Elections in Donetsk and Luhansk. The agrement was retracted by Moscow as it was found that Ukraine was reluctant to disband para military groups in these areas --although for a while they "removed them from the main stream military".Ukraine also had a big issue with removing military personell from these regions.Minsk (2) failed in this area and the second agrements did not really happen at all. Minsk II included removing weapons from borders and regions of Donbas being given self-government. Its just a sad reality that ukraine government was reluctant to allow these areas to choose where they were heading and where their futures lay. That is not an excuse for this war -its just part of the messed up reasons it came about.Putin is one sick puppy thats a fact.
  12. On the topic of who is the "good guy" here, as that is what all this jousting is really trying to figure out--im my experience of eastern europe during another unpleasant european conflict, the " good guys" idea is ,sadly, a somewhat blinkered and optimistic take on things . Id respectfully suggest spend some time in a conflict zone before making any presumptive or assumptive remarks on either countries agenda. It takes no time at all to become a very muddled and clouded affair im my experience.

Exactly, they scoop 15 million from government meant for the people. they then reduce the peoples monthly DD by a tenner each so the council loses a million each month in council tax revenue for the year. But they have 15 million to cover that small rebate. good plan though, lose a million coming in each month for a year but keep 15 million as a one off "loan"--lovely penalty free loan that is at tax payers expense.

No They are keeping the payment. They are then reducing my monthly council tax DD by a few pounds over the year. I am paying slightly less each month on my DD on council tax over the 2022-2023 tax year. They are not refunding to my bank m8--thats the whole point of this post here ! Im getting the £150 back not as one payment but as a slight monthly rediction on my council tax bill--so i can happily use that tenner a month saved as i please.

This was not put thru governmental approvals as legitimate revenue to be gathered by your council to do with as they please, although this is exactly what has happened .. It is money given to them by government to ease the fuel poverty issue. The money was earmarked as the first of several payments to offset rising energy bills. Being up to date with council tax is not i believe as vital as being able to cook or hear your home.£150 in your bank account or in the form of a post office collected cash payment affords choice. The way it has been done removed choice and significantly bolstered the councils immediately available funds so they DID gain quite a lot( at least 15 million if i an correct) .It was meant to bolster the peoples immediately available funds. It was defined as an initial EMERGENCY payment .Over 100 000 people in Fife pay council tax by DD. Thats over 100 000 payments of £150 to each person ,now in councils coffers to spend as they see fit. They now have the choice of what to do with it not the people of the area. The only offset they feel is a slight reduction in returning income via the slightly reduced council tax monthly DD's from the people of Fife .. 15 million??. Thats one hellova juicy "loan" courtest of jo public.Ill check that figure to see if its accurate when i get a call back from my local MP's office.I'd be interested in finding out if god ol' SNP sanctioned the councils decisions here. They are trickle charging back the £150 by reducing your council tax bill by a few pounds each month .That does nothing to tackle fuel poverty for many families i feel.

Sorry but who are "these people" exactly?? Ahhh i see you are pushing a personal theory that in some way "these people" are "less" than yourself. A legend in your own mind you must be.i work for a living lad as does my wife and i expect better from my elected officials.

    Energy Rebate

People have had the choice of where they need that cash placed taken away. Many will have limited financial abilities to use energy in their home and could use the cash to do exactly that. The way it has been done ensures people are all in line like good little soldiers paying their council tax regardless of whether they can afford heat their homes or cook food. You have to be a right little stooge puppet to think thats the right thing to do

    Energy Rebate

Sky news this morning " go phone your council ,and ensure your energy rebate is in hand and refunded to you, Each council apparently decides "how" this money (given to them by the scottish government) is paid out to its people. Great news---- i have received mine---but wait--its NOT as a cash payment to go against the rising costs of energy. Fife council decided to credit it on my council tax account --so they can ensure they keep every penny given to them by scottish government in house in their accounts. What a shower of ****. Anyone expecting to have that payment to use for fuel is denied that choice.

  23. I reckon the news is always fed to us with an agenda of some sort . Right now the agenda seems to focus the nation on fuel prices. More than likely something else happening around the globe that our elite feel needs downplayed. Bird flu doesnt get most people flustered enough
