  1. pity they never made these with a removeable breech "plug" that could convert from breech to percussion by removal of said plug
  2. One for sale on guntrader but his price is a wee bitty too high .
  3. Nitro proofed a bonus. Must have choked barrels. cylinder chokes no good.Im focussing more on black powder these days
  4. I saw two for sale on an auction site recently going surprisingly cheap. How long have you owned this one?
  5. C,mon Harry,he's got a life and family .He just wanted a little bit of your money.I have no idea if they are working from home but i do know the payment site is constantly down so you have problems paying a lot of the time.
  6. On the lookout for a percussion 10 bore/8 bore but also interested in a rotary underlever 10 bore hammergun if anyone knows of one for sale.I know forsey i think had/has one but he is asking an arm and both legs for it.
  7. tempted to buy a 410 once again ,make use of the old bayonet fit silencer and try some 2.5 tss #5 on geese this season.
  8. i shot many hundreds of rabbits and doos with my super meteor when i was a lad
  9. I disagree.I see it as disrespectful to the quarry to promote #3 shot as a longer range killing option in steel due to the fact not everyone can do this and encouraging many more to try this will inevitably result in high crippling rates.I put the geese first not peoples feelings .I will add i know it can be done with #3 shot steel, and done very well--but at the risk of repeating myself thats not what this is about .The shore ,i reckon,is not the place to test how good a shot you are,and too see if you can use #3 steel on geese ,its the place to show how much restraint you can muster and use the right tools for the job in hand given your own level of skill. If you are a consistently good shot and can use #3 steel humanely bash on--but know your limitations first before you start lobbin #3 up at higher geese please
  10. Lets stop this guff about hitting birds in the head with #3 steel shot .Its true i dont deny it #3 will drop geese with headshots but in the body at 45 yards its a likely a bloody cripple and you damned well know it.Use a humane pellet size as your years should have taught you.#1 steel or bigger. At 40 yards if you hit it in the head its as dead as a #3 shot but more importantly if you hit it in the chest as most do its still bloody dead not flapping off someplace.

    Pcp pump

Dusty but still but in A1 condition. As i said its bout 15 years this has just sat in his hot water tank cupboard -and no it dun need replacement washers or anything else its 100%--and when i find the other identical pump that will be too.Im not 100% on make but from checking the stand and the guage its an FX early model.Back then there were no cheapo duff pumps .they all cost a fair bit of cash as the quality was excellent and the market for pcp rifles still recent.

    Pcp pump

i have 2 identical stirrup pumps my old man bought for his gun.rarely used ,just lying getting foosty in his cupboard. Also have divers air bottle with charging hose--these are the expensive ones he bought along with his rifle more than 15 years ago.not cheap crud.one was long term delayed in post so company sent another!!!! hence he has 2.He will be happy to sell as i sold his gun for him years back.£25 each pump or for one if thats all you want.ill get a pic later
  15. I do use a semi auto and have used a browning humpback on geese many times but its the usual story. Its who is behind the gun that decides the ethics of the day.I have found the percussion 12 has a 25-30 yard range on most game geese included and hopefully cash flow permitting ill pick up a 10 or an 8 so i can throw up 11/2 oz or perhaps 2 oz next season thus keeping a respectable pattern out to 35-40 yards.I found BB with black powder to be incredibly potent ballistic wise but fails on the pattern density.#2 shot would be my shot size of choice on geese with lead or #1 bismuth on the mud
  16. Loaded up a small batch of 1.5 oz blue dot rounds for the 12 today to finish the inland season off , using the green cheddite 3" .Anyone used blue dot with lead ?I read on alliants site that 39 grains is popular with many wads in fiocchi cases that are i understand similar but not identical to the good ol cheddites.Im not the anal type when reloading but if someone has experience with blue dot/cheddites and 1.5oz lead that would be handy--Gaulandi wad btw.
  17. This may help. a friend sent me this for my black powder ventures Someone pointed out though that a 2oz load of shot with black powder in a 2 5/8 case would take some squeezing in!!!!! more like 11/4 oz for a 2 5/8
  18. walnut stock on the gun my old man gave me.
