  1. Bought from a fella on here last year. I used a half dozen times and got a few bunnies and pigeons . The longest headshot at rabbit 45 yards .lovely accurate rifles. but now im probably getting rimfire so this is not needed. Lovely gun in excellent condition. Comes with original box and silencer plus 4 magazines and refilling pieces..but not a scope or the sling ,im keeping that .I also have a large new divers bottle ill sell seperately if guns picked up locally. .i used a pic of the gun from the lad i bought it from btw. guns got stunning walnut furniture. £550
  2. we had them on the farm still last week. wee ******* know when seasons done.
  3. Had one almost identical back in the early 80's .Great guns.Accounted for a crazy amount of rabbits.Didnt have a moderator though. So many rabbits about it made no difference.
  4. TSS thru this un would be entertaining
  5. For all the thousands of older guns with tighter chokes out there that have ,and continue to fire steel shot, to find one that's been genuinely damaged would be difficult --unless it was through a negligent owner using poorly loaded cartridges .I have heard about bulges since the start of this debate but never have i came across a gun that's been damaged by firing properly loaded steel shot. And if i did im sure i could also find a gun damaged by firing lead shot if the owner had ,again ,used poorly loaded rounds
  6. Sorry m8 i was busy placing it on guntrader as well .Im looking for £500 ono

  8. Cycles and shoots as it should .Clean and tidy gun. Will rfd at buyers expense £500 ono
  9. Ive used it with lead for inland geese and with steel on the shore with a 36g RTO load,.some found it difficult to get consistent patterns .i find its just fine.
  10. Its a toilet that clamps up round yer ring piece and sooks the offending turrd oot!!!!
  11. as per title looking for bismuth shot for next season .size 3 to BB .American shot preferrd.Roto metals etc.
  12. You will get the usual negative guff from people who have not used one im sure But I have owned one for a few years . I seriously regret selling my sxs yildiz 3.5" 12 bore. Handsome guns .Light enough but also comfortable to shoot with any round. Yes there is more recoil with 3.5 cartridges.Thats a common sense predictable fact but its perfectly managable. They shoot well and drop geese with lead and with steel. I found as most do nowadays that 3" patterns better and of course gives less recoil but it was good to have the option of lobbing a 3.5 in. If you find one going cheap --grab it--thats my advice.
  13. No takers?? Will consider £450
  14. Used mine a few seasons back and was impressed with the ferocity of black powder against game. Range is the limiting factor .i found 30 yards was my 12 bores reach out and drop em limit for humane kills on geese, 1 1/4 oz BB bismuth load But impressive and very even patterns due to using the old addage of less powder and more lead killing em dead.Next trip ill be using #3 shot instead.
  15. Mind back in the late 70s or early 80s when i was a teenager we had no chrono this or pressure testing that. we just had to work a load up and that was that. Or pick them from within shooting times magazine now and then. i mind my old man saying "just to the lip" of the brass when using hand reloading tools and of course being young id pop a few extra grains on top of the cut down once fired alphamax cases, to make sure i got that goose!!!. these were the days when as the local car mechanic at Guardbridge would say" you will be fine ,just keep your legs well braced" when he shared a few of his wax sealed homeloaded Gevelot 3" super dooper magnums. His homeloads shook more than one gun about. Even sheared the bolt of a marlin 10 bore goose gun !!.Thankfully we have technology to keep ourselves safe nowadays but its all still down to common sense at the end of the day .I always keep the loads "less" rather than "more" until im sure the load actually feels like it needs "more" but i agree 100% with BB and the like 1100fps is plenty enough on many load tables .i find that with the black powder for example the shot kills just as dead and the speed is always modest.
  16. Aye cheers.it all helps .I loaded a handful of RTO rounds with 29 grain a few weeks back and it patterned very well. But i felt a bit more velocity was needed. Thats backed up by the fact that 33 grains is the norm or thereabouts for a 1.5 oz lead load on this data sheet and others i have seen now And those are star crimped so i reckon for a half decent blue dot cartridge with a speed of say 1200fps and with RTO finish 35 grains should not be unreasonable with a cx2000 primer .
  17. Im in need of a few more blue dot loads for an older 3" gun here if you have any??
  18. You got any blue dot or nobel 82 loads for a 3" greener i just picked up I got a couple here but always open to improvements or alternatives.
