  1. With that kind of mileage I wouldn't get hung up on mpg, you will pay more initially for an economical car anyway!! Anything well looked after and jap and you are on a winner
  2. Personally my money would be on the Subaru!! I know even the non turbos are thirsty but offset that against the build quality and its horses for courses!!! Outbacks can be found at very reasonable prices too, they have the higher ground clearance than the legacy! Another option would be an Impreza wagon again fantastic car and great fun to drive in the turbo version!!!!!!!! I had to get rid of mine, sadly it was just that slightly too small with 4 dogs and children!!! I bought it with 130k on the clock, and I don't hang around in them, all I had to replace was consumables. One of the few cars I have owned I would without a doubt buy again, well that and my old calibra but that's a whole different story!!!!!!!!
  3. I had one of those radio controlled cars as a kid!! That brings back memories
  4. Try Tayna.co.uk best price I could find when I bought mine
  5. As far as 1 or 2, I would go 2 all day long!! So tuneable for not a lot of money! It depends on what you are like with electrics
  6. I had a td5 for about 4 years, I did all my own maintenance. It was up on the miles but worked out at £750 a year running costs!! As long as you go for preventive maintenance they are fine. People buy them and think they go forever, they will if you look after them!! Mine had 170k on the clock and I had it chipped, totally transformed it!! I think I nearly touched every bolt on that vehicle. The chap that bought it from me was made up 12 months later and not a single fault!!!! Don't fit cheap parts it's false economy!! I have a defender now but still miss the disco, air con, cruise, decent sound system and quiet to drive!! The fender is a different ball game!!!!
  7. It's not about need it's about WANTING!!!! The answer is yes
  8. Good choice I would go for the last td5's rather than the "transit" engines!! The td5 are proven now to do the mileage and for very little outlay the power can be upped a little!! Mine has been remapped running 160-170 ish and on a run I'm getting just under 40, fantastic compared to what it cost!!! My auto td5 disco was chipped and short journeys I was lucky to see 20
  9. the td5 will cool on idle, they all do it!! Good choice tho, get the old girl chipped makes them a lot more drivable
  10. Buy a fender!! It's the only way!!!!!
  11. They are fantastic when going ok but when the trouble starts that's when deep pockets are needed!!!! It's a 50k car at a fraction of the price still with 50k car repair bill!!! Take someone that knows them or as Cosd says get on the forum. My step dad has one as does a good friend so I could bore you for hours!!! They are great to drive, really nice place to be on a journey and pretty handy off road. I couldn't justify the running costs so bought a defender instead, in 12 months not a lot of problems which surprised me, the same can't be said for the discos!!
  12. The best way would be to drop it into your hand and sieve through your fingers!!!!
  13. Weihrauch hw30, brilliant little rifle. I have one but a bit far from you
  14. Looking for a 3-9x40 or similar for my rimfire. I was having a play with one the other day without clicks on turrets for very fine adjustment. I'm in Somerset and would like to have a look before I buy
  15. Should have knocked some money off and gone for a free service in 12 months time!!! The ball was in your court
  16. The non turbo forester has a hi/lo box. Have a look on YouTube to see what people are getting up to in them!!
  17. As long as it's before a 55 plate it's the lower tax!! I looked at one the other day that was 280 ish to tax
  18. The awd system is fantastic!! You will be surprised how good they are in the sticky stuff. I had a turbo wagon, it was great fun. I would go as far to say £ for £ the best I've owned. How about a 3.0 outback? Good ground clearance and brilliant for the road
  19. Subaru Forester non turbo!! Fantastic awd system, hi and lo box too!!!

I have 2, one on the Hw 100 and one on the air arms. For the money I think they are fantastic, clear with a decent amount of adjustment. I'm using diy night vision and achieve very good results. Value for money that's for sure, especially when they are being dragged around the field!! £55 from mole valley farmers bargain!!!!!!
