Highly figured for looks!..........straight grain for strength,(retired cabinet maker)anything slightly cross grain would be weaker,and it all depends on how the timber was and how quickly dried.

Had a couple of browning/mirokus,never any problems. Have now got new 525 sporter,had it fitted,can't fault it.

Sorry to hear about gun.......I've got a browning 525 sporter (2015) paid £1350 new,it's been well soaked several times,so far the finish is perfect,but I never put it in slip until well dry and a good clean when home. Hope you get it sorted!

.done the same thing with car a few yrs ago,looked outside couldn't see car,phoned the old bill to report stolen,I left it at shops,old bill came round and I had to tell them what had happened,they gave me a lift to shops,and said"do you know the way home" My kids remind me every Xmas !!

Had a maxus for 3 months.....sent back to browning twice,although everything was loading ok,second shot the trigger was solid quite a few times(a great gun,but couldn't handle the fact "will it fire or not") Have now got new 525,for the money,a dream of a gun

Had mine 5months a great gun,although still a bit stiff opening,well worth checking out the chokes on a pattern plate
