  1. The passive CENS are just ear plugs moulded to fit in your ear comfortably. I believe you can upgrade the passive ones to the electronic ones though if you decide to at a later date (you might have to stipulate at time of buying you want this option as it maybe just certain models that can upgrade, not sure).
  2. Post office sell licences for day, week or year.
  3. You can fish Stocks from the bank. There's an EA section on the Ribble that you can fish for trout, see their website. Not sure if they are still doing them but at Kelbrook you can pick up 1000 Eley First Selects in 21/24/28 gram for £145. I got pick some up 3 weeks ago.
  4. Think you have a typo on the 24g clay list on the Eley Rebels. You've put 1818 but I think it should read 1318. I'm into my last slab of a 1000 I bought of the size 8 shot and love em. They are a bit expensive at £182 a 1000 though from sporting targets.
  5. I'm using Eley Rebel 24g 8's and I love them apart from the price. Need to find a cheaper cart.
  6. So are you booked off work tomorrow to go get your first shotgun, lol. Not buying a gun straight away is one of the hardest things once your first SGC comes through. Take your time and find the right price and fit for you.
  7. Found this table on the interweb http://shotshell.drundel.com/pelletcount.htm Tried to paste it in but it lost formatting.
  8. I had that pop up a couple of weeks ago but didn't fill it in yet. There's a reminder icon in my start-up tray though to register when I'm ready/if I want to.
  9. If they placed one outside parliament you'd never see an MP inside if they did that.
  10. I counted 9 of these being used at Flitwick on Sunday including one of the guys I go with using his for the first time while I've been out with him. Problem with his is it wasn't long enough for his 30" barrel S/A with extended choke and the stock stuck 2" out the end. He still had to Carry a cartridge bag as well and was a bu@@er to get in the boot of a mondeo with 3 other gun slips.
  11. Hi Pothunter. Yes you can register your gun at two places. I got my SGC in Lancashire but work in Bedfordshire. I rent a room down here in someone's house and go back to Lancashire every couple of weeks to have my kids for the weekend. I discussed keeping the shotgun at both addresses when I applied and he (my FEO) was fine with it. I contacted Beds & Hearts licensing and they came out and inspected where I wanted to put the safe down here and then after installation. They then contacted Lancashire licensing to add this address to my details as a place I store my shotgun. Got a text from Lancs FEO to confirm details were added and was fine to start storing my gun here.
  12. I've also got the same model and love it. 2 Semi-Auto guys I shoot with had a go on the clays and both loved it as well. Very well balanced gun they both said and shoots like a dream.
  13. You don't get the cert till they are happy with the safe installation.
  14. I called FEO before I submitted my SGC application and they said to submit Drs letter with it to save time. Booked in to see him and we had a chat then he said "now, does £10 seem ok?". Snapped his hand off cause I'd heard it was about £25 for letter like Paul payed.
  15. I actually took a pic of the tide in at Southport once cause it was the first time in my many visits I'd ever seen it in. Pity the phone it was on got broken and I didn't ransfer the pics to PC. 40 mins from you is www.dolphinclaytargetcentre.com/ at Walmer Bridge which is between Longton and Hesketh bank. ABT, DTL and Sporting available.
  16. Check out page 3 of the PDF linked below mate. Each river has a minimum size limit for Northumbria area. North Yorkshire on page 4 as well. What I couldn't see in it was the number your allowed to take for your area. Not a very clear document by the environment agency that. https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/295532/Northeast_byelaws.pdf
  17. I snapped the handle on my net cause I tried to lift the fish in the net by the handle instead of by the net.
  18. These are cheap and will keep your trousers clean http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2015-Waterproof-Outdoor-Hiking-Walking-Climbing-Hunting-Snow-Legging-Gaiters-/321659663061?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4ae468f2d5 Not a bad price posted either.
  19. Hi and welcome to the forum (from Leyland myself)
  20. Hi PaulJC, I was in the same position as you regarding medical (split with Mrs and her and kids moving out. I got depressed and prescribed tablets which i quit taking as they were useless) and only got my SGC 6 weeks ago. I sent my Drs letter in with application so that saved a bit of time for me as FEO brought it with my application to talk through. He was very understanding and didn't really spend any time on it. He just corroborated what I said compared to the letter and application to make sure everything was captured on the application. He will probably also bring up about getting insured once your certificate is issued (BASC/CPSA/etc). I had ordered my safe but hadn't installed it as I wanted the Ok from him as to the place it was to be installed. iI could of fitted it as he was happy with the location. He came back a week later after it was installed and gave me the green light that my SGC would be issued in the very near future. It came through a week after the inspection (this is Lancashire though). My FEO didn't want Coffee/Tea or buscuits as his visit was at 5pm and he told me he'd already had enough for the day or he would be p1ss1ng all night, lol.
  21. Mandel choked make an invector+ choke for the new B525. No idea what they are like or how they pattern to the standard Browning flush invector+. You need to select the correct choke type at the bottom in the drop down. Doesn't say they are extended but all the pictures are of extended. http://www.shotgunchokes.co.uk/shop/product-info.php?prodname=Extended-shotgun-chokes-suitable-for-Browning&id=30405
  22. I know Phil Kelly was on holiday till the end of May and was in court the week before so would of had 3 weeks catching up to do. That's if he's looking after your application anyway.
