  4. Sorry What i meant was what are We shooting regarding all the intereaction of all these mother companies Do you shoot anything as your doing all these chrono tests ( which are quite informational ) Thanks
  5. Although all the above has been good advice for autos as you asked in the thread But you are missing a fundamental element Your son has just started shooting for the first time and he has shot 50 plus cartidges with an o/u which he is not used to and probably does'nt fit him which is probably why he was lifting his head I personaly would not introduce a starter with a semi auto ( obviously the safety aspect apart ) But a young starter should be introduced with a two barrel gun whether sxs or o/u He/she has only two shots to make a kill eject and reload (a semi will make them less diligent ) and remember that if things progress One cannot take a semi onto live game driven days Or even clay days unless it is a semi auto clay day I was brought up with 12g sxs and the first gun i purchased when i got my sgc as a 15yr old was a single barrel BSA snipe 12g ( £15.00 ) and that teaches one how to shoot as one has only one shot plus i used my fathers belgium sxs hammer 12g Take your son to some dealers and try a few guns and see what fits ( a good rfd will fit the gun to suit ) They will be more than accommodating as a young lad starting off is their future investment He's a tall lad so alot of guns will fit him and introduce him to various make and size cartidges that suit his light statue Take him out and shoot a few pigeon Crows rabbits in an inviroment where he is not shooting loads of cartridges all off in one go But whereby he learns what these weapons are about and what they are for and what they are capable of
  6. Hi Redgum A while back i was looking for a good quality knife and trolled all info on various steels etc I ended up buying a Cudeman Spain bought direct from the company for less than your budget Fantastic steel ( not your stainless steel stuff ) full solid tang with hardwood handle and real leather high quality sheath I can hold a sheet of paper in one hand mid air and cut strips off with this knife in my other hand That's how good an edge one can get on the blade Worth looking them up
  7. Then you have your Caledonian cartridges in scotland taken over by Eley hawk in 2011 now owned by Maxam Spain They even use similar box design ie XL Suposed to be made to the Caledonian recipe. I wonder? supplied by Trustach. Kincardineshire ( Who deliver for £5.00 per thousand ) at £87 per slab for 32g fibre But what are you buying?
  8. Spot on I had said the exact same to a friend a while back via email Eley vip 16g are made in Spain Gamebore also share others components so their copper coated loads could well be the same Cheddite make a copper coated cartridges " Royal Drive" at £50 per thousand cheaper than Zenith and alot of cartridge companies use Cheddite components
  9. As rapid.25 says make sure you send both parts of your certificate to your local firearms dept and they will replace it with a new one foc
  10. Yep Just another marketing hype and look at the price of them 32g about £390 per thou And i do'nt think they'll be any better than my RC sipe prestige 32g at £324 per thou I shoot with a few different guns and i have'nt seen anyone using these zenith even the beats i go to Never seen any guns using them Has anyone on here seen anyone using them?
  11. Soft ground the better as the bullet will penetrate You'll get ricochet off hard frozen ground, rocks etc But if the ground is flat with no back drop then better safe than sorry But an 22 air pellet will ricochet especially from an fac air rifle depending on what pressure you have it at
  12. Little tip Dave If you want to eat rabbit meat use the .22lr If not continue as you are You must've been B***** sick of your xmas dinner to end up shooting it to bits off sticks Should of continued with the brussels and turkey Good shooting mate
  13. Bradford stalker are still advertising them NSI uno plastic wad £180 per thousand
  14. Last ones i bought were from Bywell shooting ground Not sure if they still stock them but can find out
  15. Aint it funny that CG owners have nothing but praise for them including myself Yet some dealers and shooting grounds are derogative of them Maybe that at the price they have'nt as big a profit margin on them as they might on other brands and possibly as they rarely go wrong plus a 10year warranty transferable that they will not have the after sales repairs that some bank on as like car sales if your in for repairs they will try and introduce you to a new model Any dealer or shooting ground happens to say such twaddle to me i will pass thier coments onto Anglo Italia But to date i have'nt had such **** said to me from dealers and the like
  16. Northumberland which is as far north of England as possible I am going to contact my local dealer to see if they can work something out
  17. Lead or steel shot In England we have to shoot wildfowl with none toxic, In Scotland one can shoot wildfowl over land with lead and steel over waterways With the current issues with plastic all over the world ie bottles wrappers etc Should this issue not be addressed with shooters regarding plastic wad carts I beat on a 7000 acre eastate here in Northumberland who host some big shoots with all types of shooters from lords and lady's and the like and i come to the the latter part of the beat near the guns and the ground is littered with plastic wads being even now worse near the end of the season I personally use fibre wad all the time as many shoots and land owners do not permit plastic wad So we have to use non toxic shot over water ways but can shoot plastic wads into the water. I think not I know this is not in regards to this thread but thought i would put it into the mix And shall start another thread shortly on this issue
  18. Hi Dave Had a look at these F16 blaser and looked at reviews What an expensive boring pile of **** they seem to be It's like BMW putting thier rotary badge on a Larder They look ****** awfull and it's going to reflect on the Blaser reputation Not that i'am an admirer of German guns Just do not float my boat I think Blaser has made a massive mistake which will turn around and bite them on the **** plus it will be interesting as to who is actually making them?
  19. Maybe that Kelbrook are sponsored by a certain make of gun Probably Beretta I have the same maxum but with pow stock and schabel forend and half the money of an EELL and better wood How much would a Beretta to this spec above cost and what number would Beretta apply to it, as they have more numbers than a phone directory and more letters than the alphabet Maybe that's why they double up on letters Beretta had a good name 20/ 30 years back but qouting Beretta shooters Their modern guns are not as good as the older models and they are over pricing on past performance Caesar Guerini are proving this point making attractive guns that are proving themselves When i'am out on shoots everyone picks my Maxum up to look over and inspect No other gun attracts this interest incl browning Miroku beretta so much so some of my shooting mates are looking for a Maxum and have asked me to source one for them Need i say more
  20. What exactly are you selling plus you will have to put a price on PW rules
  21. Well never had any problems with my CG's Might be worth taking a look at the Maxum apex or forum in this sort of price range
  22. Hi Dave Is it the curves of the action you like or the curves under the action engraving that attracts you lol
