  1. I would get. lithium battery, one that looks a bit like a cordless drill. The Ferrex\workzone one I have had both battery option and ability to operate directly from 12v socket in the car, best of both worlds and importantly a trigger lock.
  2. 1st para, that is exactly where things went wrong... Tax breaks, subsidies, taxing travel, consumption, ... Government should be taxing as less as possible and industries (not being taxed to death) should be left to sink or swim on their own. 2nd para, for once we are in agreement... 😜We definitely need full PR!
  3. And it all comes down to bad tax policy........ If you tax inputs (especially energy and fuel, etc) everything thereafter is expensive, and if you then tax primary income at a high rate, and manufacturing activity being already suppressed by high input costs, no one can afford to buy stuff and therefore the whole economy suffers. The USA especially has minimal taxes on fuel and energy, and federal tax rates are 24% up to £150k etc. Compared to the UK. Even adding on state taxes, you are much better of in the USA.
  4. No this is about control and Nanny state. Android settings notifications Wireless Emergency Alerts And turn them off..... Simples
  5. USA/UK providing targeting to Ukraine via drones is an annoyance and not central to the fight but at some point Russia was going to put it's foot down and say enough is enough. Some times the only way to solve a problem is to take a big hammer... when all the other tools are already broken or not suited. The Russian strategy is not to take ground per se but to demilitarise Ukraine by destroying it's combat ability whilst retaining Russia's and it's going well.... all the weapons and material supplied by the West is now about exhausted, Ukrainian army is down 150,000 KIA and 3 times that number in WIA. Half the Ukrainian combat man power is gone, as is 75% of their large weapon systems combat power and whilst they are desperately holding on, the war is already won by Russia, it is now a matter for Ukraine as to how bad the defeat is going to be.
  6. The delusions get better and better.... Russia as a penultimate resort rolled tanks and men into Ukraine after the Ukranian Government would not implement internaltion accords it had signed up to, had been repeatedly warned over 8 years to stop atttacking the Donbass who left Ukraine to popular democratic vote in 2014. Anglea Merkel herself admitted that the Minsk negotiations were held by the West and Ukraine in bad faith and therefore diplomacy was a sham. Putins Russia invasion is going to go down as one of the most successful military operations in the last 80 years. Compared to Iraq, Syria, Libya, Yemen etc where 'modern' military forces were fighing what could be best described as local Milita's, Russia is slowly but surely grinding down the Ukrainian Army to the point it will take 20 years (a generaton) before they can get back to the point they may become a threat to the Donbass and Russia. As well you know, when a military operation is ongoing, normal international air space rules are suspended, and which happened in all the conflicts above, including Ukraine. Also you trying flying without a flight plan within 250km of the UK and USA etc and you get your own personal fighter escort and forced down or shot down if you don't change course and move away. They don't wait until you are within 22km. (12 nautical miles)
  7. I would recommend as I have a pair, (not for sale) British Army desert boots made by Iturri and can often be picked up for £50 to £75 issued but brand new in box. Probably exactly what you are looking for, solid sole, relatively light weight and breathable and feel indestructible.
  8. Sorry, had not seen yours whilst writing response, please remove if required
  9. TK, As noted above this is a representation, but more importantly it shows that even reducing both manufacturing and retailer margins, manufacturing costs are the significant reason for the increase in prices. The costs of materials (up 25%), energy (up 100%), labour (up 10%) in the last 12 months alone is pushing prices up and manufacturers are maintaining their margins in percentage terms, rather than nominal £ terms. BTW I just had a look at Hulls 2022 more detailed balance sheet and you forgot to list net profit, which is after all deductions and taxes are paid. Turnover is indeed £18m, gross profit is indeed £5.56m, however, after deductions and taxes Actual Profit is £1.38m which is then placed into the shareholders fund. £1.38m is a 7.6% return on a turnover of £18m, even adding back the directors salaries of £780k (as owners) back in gives £2.16m which is a 12% return. Those are steep but not outrageous margins by any means.
  10. The problem is not just the manufacturers but also just inflation in general. No manufacturing business can survive on less than 25% profit and nearly every clothing manufacturer for instance operates on 100% profits, branded goods are often 200% profit etc For sake of argument, decent game cartridges to the shooter cost roughly as follows Manufacturing Cost £200 Manufacturing Profit £100 Retailers Profit £80 VAT 20% £76 Retail price £456, or £114 per slab. If retailers add discount per thousand the total is £408 or £104 per slab If addition, if manufacturers were to reduce to 25% profit (£50) the thousand cost would be £348 or £82.50 per slab. If profit was reduced to 10% (£20) the thousand cost would be £312 or £79 per slab. Now these are averaged based on the round profit numbers and don't adjust for potential materials quality differences (possible saving of up to £40 per thousand) but are not far out in general. In truth, premium game cartridges (i.e. Dark Storm 28g fibre £443) manufacturing profit percentage numbers are probably 100%, whilst premium clay cartridge (Dark Storm 28g fibre £384) is probably 50% and generic clay loads (Velocity 28g fibre £287) is probably 10%. Given the smaller volume of premium game cartridges sold, large volume of generic clay loads sold and the middlin volume of premium clay loads sold it would all average out at 50% profit.
  11. Still partoting the MSM line.... Who caused the coup in Ukraine.. USA Who illegally invaded and spent spent 8 years shelling (making war) on the Donbass... Ukraine with USA and West support. Who sent in peace keeping troops to stabilise the Donbass... Russia Who openly admitted the Minsk accords were nothing more than an attempt allow time to build up an army capable of invading the Donbass and taking control, Ukraine with USA and West support. Who came into the Donbass at the request of the legitimate government... Russia All Russia has done is turn a one sided war into a 2 sided war, they didn't start it, but they are going to finish it.
  12. One of the Americans Drones was operating without lights, without transponder and without flight plan collecting targeting data for Ukraine to use against Russia. The Americans know this, the Russians know this and anyone with common sense knows this. Russia has finally had enough and downed it without firing a shot (unlike the USA and the balloons) and sent a message that this will not be tolerated any longer. Latest Black sea drone flight paths are now 150km further away from Crimea.
  13. Ha Ha Ha Ha Russia, Chine, USA and Ukraine did not sign up to the ICC. So they have no durisdiction over those countries. On the other hand the UK did sign up and I do wonder how Blair has not had an arrest warrant issued, along with others for Iraq?
  14. Chamber Length Barrel length Choke Case Manufacture Year Weight Right or Left handed These are some of things a purchaser might want to know?
  15. Chokes appear to be correct but worth measuring anyway as the one I learned on was tight in both barrels. I also suspect you are correct with the 1954 date, as the 1 would be right next to the Z if it were 1980, whereas it appears to be contained within 2 even spaced brackets. As long as they are not mistreated, they age really well.
  16. Cheers - I have made a few for others as it is effectively the cost of a bead which can be picked up from local gunshop for a couple of quid, as there is no shortage of white paint, luminous pigment or superglue.
  17. Interesting gun, maker proof marks are for GUISASOLA, SUC. DE EULALIO (K.L.) There is often more markings under the handguard as can't see a date mark. Good luck with the sale.
  18. Because before pesticides, you had pests and peeling checked none were in the food to be cooked.
  19. They can only be called conspiracy theorists if it isn't true...
  20. A budget and caliber do help.
  21. Most common US sizes are 1/2x28, 9/16 x24, 5/8x24. There is 3mm difference between each size in diameter which is easily identifiable in your photo no 1, being 5/8. In photo 2 you are showing 12 threads for a length of 1/2 of an inch thread length, hence 24tpi. Length is not a factor as the mods are threaded longer to screw up tight against the barrel step.
  22. Savage threading is normally 5/8 by 24
  23. Split Pea and Ham is one of my favourites. Fry off a leek and 3 stalks of celery, add 2.5l of water, 500g split peas, 500g gammon joint, 2 stock cubes and pepper to taste. Bring to boil and simmer for an hour. Remove from heat and shred gammon, return to pot and either use hand blender to blitz to an acceptable consistency, seasoning to taste. Makes 6\7 Sistema mugs for storage.
