  1. Looking at the cartridge loaded, I suspect more like 800ftsec which is what Cheddites 24g version goes out at. My 21g home loads with 13.5gr of powder come up over the brass with a couple of mm to the OPC, and go out supersonic on warms days and subsonic on cold days (1070ftsec) whilst the Cheddite\Bornaghi 24g "wad" bottom sits below the brass and has to propel another 3g and stay under pressure.
  2. As I have posted previously, with the 410 especially, it is definitely worth measuring and patterning each choke tube. My OU (Khan Arms\Revo) patterns best with 15 thou of choke (light mod). Above or below this, the pattern is poorer. Cartridge choice shifts the percentages up or down depending on the quality but the order of ability of the chokes tends to stay the same.
  3. The only reason the smaller parties don't win is the media construct that if you don't vote conservative, labour will get in and if you don't vote labour the conservatives will get in, when their policies are with few exceptions going to be almost the same failing policies and as the media are happy with this arrangement as they represent the controlling powers reflected in ther larger parties. In truth, if the disaffected and those who don't vote, voted Reform (for instance), both Labour and the Conservatives would suddenly find themselves in a three way fight everywhere. Smaller parties can not win and therefore nothing will change, if you keep voting for the same large party to keep the other large party out or dont vote.
  4. Ah but that can now work to our advantage... for a Keto meal (meat inclusive, carb light) when schools ask if the kids are allergic to anything, you can put down quorn, insects, soya, plant protein etc in order to insure they get good wholesome meat and dairy on their plate.
  5. You will definately not wish to consider Guinness's latest offering then.... https://guinnesswebstore.co.uk/guinness-at-home/guinness-microdraught Makes perfectdraught, positively attractive in financial terms......
  6. Stroud auction house next sale has lots of cartridges, have a look at the lots for an idea of value the auction house will put on it.
  7. You don't give the make and model of the semi, however the blown primers are telling you the problem..... either, The gun is not going into battery (i.e. the bolt is not locked as the gun is fired) or The gun is coming out of battery too early. On the semi auto, either there is carbon or crud build up on the bolt lugs or or the barrel lugs stopping bolt locking in place and/or the spring within the bolt head is too weak due to crud and/or/broken and being unable to close the rotating bolt head during firing are the most likely causes and the former is easy to check, whilst the latter can be more challenging. I would suggest as first step, a full strip (including taking the bolt apart) and a good clean of all parts of carbon and crud!
  8. Were the primers showing issues with the OU? If not, did any other ammo get used with the Semi Auto? Is it possible the semi auto is unlocking before the pressure has dropped causing the primers which are only friction fit to blow out?
  9. Allan. If avialble I will take both Mobil chokes.
  10. Used to have fun watching metal detectorists getting excited on field next door to an old wood with a rookery (adjacent a historic site), finding nowt but my catapult ammo that had been shot at the crows etc, both 9mm steelies and 38 cal lead balls and they were finding both.
  11. Neither are tungsten, Bismuth, Copper or Silver magnetic. If on the otherhand, you nickel plate lead, it will show up as magnetic.
  12. And just where are all these Judges, prosecutors and environmentalists when it comes to the CR4P released on a daily basis into the waterways killing everything in the river for large stretches from water & sewage companies?
  13. The military are not going to use anything on the front lines en mass that can't be refueled and ready to go again within 10 minutes. As to reduced fuel useage.. who are they kidding... there generally is no mains electricity, so they would have to port in fuel to feed generators to recharge the batterys... having a laugh.....
  14. The last big one was roughly 12,000 years ago, with an intermediate one 5500bc recorded on Shetland and Orkney (Noah Event) and next big one is due again, problem is the cause would disable the mobile network before there was even a hint the tsunami was coming.
  15. Why if the farmer was asking your mate to undertake vermin control, was the keeper involved? Vermin control on crops is the remit of the farmer\ tenant farmer... something does not add up! Then, a bottle of whisky is less than £20. Was the £100 to the keeper for the day or the season? Was it even £100? If you were invited to a pheasant day, you would not be expected to pay for the day, but you are normally expected to tip the keeper. I think your mate is less a mate and more a chancer....
  16. Likewise, if the unladen trailer is within your towing capacity you are good to go. If the normally (partially) laden trailer is within your towing capacity you are good to go. If the fully Laden trailer is greater than your towing capacity, you need a bigger vehicle.
  17. Maxam seem to suggest CSB6 as the most efficient 24g\25g loading in 12b. CSB5 might be fast enough (being a 1oz powder) but you will be operating at the low pressure end of the powder with the consistency issues (Inc dirty barrels) that may bring, along with the short case and RTO finish.
  18. Sounds like the pin was badly made as the shoulders (which normally prevent entry too far into the breech) are too deep. The easiest fix may either be another new pin of the correct dimensions. Was it a certain Aberdeen gunsmith who used to be at the Hardgate?
  19. Short answer is no, livestock need to be in distress at a dog off the lead, being chased or attacked or having been chased or attacked. The presence of a dog on a lead (or in the next field) is not counted as stressful. Farmers use their sheep dogs to round up sheep all the time (including when with lambs and heavily pregnant), the sheep are stressed by this activity but the farmer ignores it as neccessary to manage the flock, and the stress effects of your dog several fields away or on a lead are nothing near this level.
  20. Apparently Charles Lancaster started off with 3\4oz but pressure reliability issues meant he very quickly moved to 7\8 as the standard loading.
  21. It you had an old style dial meter, you would get the same rate for export as import which would be better than what you get with a SMART meter, whose sole purpose is to allow control by the electricity suppliers over price and connections.
