  1. I thought Farage actually did pretty well last night. He's clearly having a pretty torrid time but I think last night's QT was one of his better performances. The Economist lady was on the ball and Jeremy Hunt seemed in good form as well. Why on earth they bring on people like May, I'll never know.
  2. Depends on the poll. But in the absence of anything else, it's probably better than 'my mates all think..." . But the greater point is that despite what I perceive to be a significant majority on here to be anti-EU, this may not be reflected across the country.
  3. I suspect that if the issues were properly debated AND if there are some sensible concessions made by Brussels, the UK will vote to stay with the EU. AFAIK, a recent poll was slightly in favour of remaining in and that is without a debate and any improvements to the current 'relationship'.
  4. I've no idea who he is but I reckon he still needs to obey the laws of the country in which you're in.....
  5. Excellent advice. See if you can try both before choosing.
  6. I don't care about that. My Tikka shoots <1 MOA from day one and I couldn't fault it if I tried.
  7. That will be interesting then as my T3 plastic stock is absolutely fine for my needs - nothing flimsy about mine While there's nothing wrong with CZ, when I use one I always find them 'agricultural' TBH. Will look forward to seeing this new one.
  8. I've a set of Briley coloured ones. Full set iirc. Only used them for a few weeks before changing gun. Not at home at the moment but will be able to give you details when I get home tomorrow night.
  9. No it won't. It will offend those dipsticks and ****wits who THINK it will offend our non Christian friends.... All the more reason to fly the flag, IMHO.
  10. What an uncalled for and stupid statement. Unless it was meant as some kind of a joke and you omitted smilies....

Just another perspective on this if I may. I bought one last year from Ian Mulliner. It wasn't any more (noticeably) expensive than some private ones that I had looked at. Ian spent the best part of half a day setting it up, correct stock etc etc and being a very fussy engineer (by background), got it totally sorted. This was well worth any slight increase in cost over a private deal, IMHO. I'd highly recommend him and he had so many guns and bits and pieces in stock (last May) , that any combination or shape/fitting needed, he had. And then a trial go with the last two options at Southern Counties to make sure that the in-house fitting worked on the range. (Although I believe Southern Counties is no longer open....) He did a superb job and I'd never buy another competition gun without a service like Mulliners. It was money very well spent, and wasn't expensive considering the skill and time he put into getting it sorted, giving a perfectly fitted gun. Hope this helps, or is at least of interest! (I have no contact with Mulliner's since buying last year!) http://www.mulliners.co.uk/contact-us/
  12. Please stop using the death of so many people, Argentinian as well as British, as a political football. You mightn't like Maggie and that's your prerogative. But on this matter, even the head of the Argentine Navy disagrees with you. And the captain of the Belgrano Following the message sent to the Argentine government on 23rd Apr, Argentine Rear Admiral Allara, who was in charge of the task force that the Belgrano was part of, said “After that message of 23 April, the entire South Atlantic was an operational theatre for both sides. We, as professionals, said it was just too bad that we lost the Belgrano“. Hope this helps.
  13. In war, as we were with Argentina, the Belgrano was a legitimate target no matter where it was. (Exclusion Zones are for the benefit of neutral vessels, not combatants, AFAIK.) James Mates (ITN), reported in around 2007* that when he interviewed the Captain of the General Belgrano, the captain said that the attack was legitimate. I believe the Argentine government at some stage did as well. The Belgrano could have changed course at any time and there have been reports since that the Captain was indeed under orders to attack. Sinking the Belgrano kept the rest of the Argentine Navy indoors, particularly the aircraft carrier, which could have been a serious threat to our military fighting a difficult war in the Falklands. It was a good result in terms of fighting a war, despite the sad loss of life, as have already been stated. Reported in the Spectator,
  14. Didn't even know a word he was saying.
  15. Tripe this this is the painful side of 'free speech'. And please don't go clicking on that link too much. They (usually) get money for every hit.
  16. Certainly seems to be the case and I would think that practising the 'cut and thrust of law' would be good training for debate in parliament - and climbing the political ladder. Arm wrestling champions (as an example) are probably less prepared. Politicians are, and need to be, smart people, and that generally biases their backgrounds.
