Like most folks I’d imagine , I’ve been having a clear out, i have found a few bottles of sloe gin I made back in 2009, they look ok, some sediment on the bottom though , would these still be drinkable or not? is it worth trying to filter the sediment out ? ive also found two bottles of sloe whisky! I vaguely remember using up some cheap whisky to do this as it was unpalatable to drink (Christmas presents from distant relatives 😭)

C4 dispatches ‘the truth about traveller crime’
pegasus bridge replied to pegasus bridge's topic in Off Topic
It is however unfortunate as the term Asian covers a huge group of people, I have an Indian heritage Sikh friend who is incensed by the use of the term Asian to describe these offenders. -
C4 dispatches ‘the truth about traveller crime’
pegasus bridge replied to pegasus bridge's topic in Off Topic
It was a fairly obvious observation about laws not being enforced because the perpetrators come largely from minority ethnic groups surely ? -
Anyone else watched this ? Highlighted the numerical connection between traveller sites and crime rates. Including the observation by a police officer that ‘95% of hare coursing’ is done by travellers. not a surprise to many I’m sure, but really shines a light on the problem.

I’d also agree they will trash garden, it’s worthwhile building a large run and putting straw down for them to scratch around in and perhaps letting them free range in the garden acouple of times a week, just don’t forget or lock them back in when they roost in the evening 😉

I brought 6 ex battery hens last year, they were approx 10 months old at this point when they were due to be slaughtered for pet food. They were in a right state, looked half plucked, large combs . After just a couple of months they feathered out, settled in and have been laying very well since, getting an egg a day per bird for the last month as the days get longer. keep food contained and don’t leave scraps around and they shouldn’t draw the rats in 👍 Totally agree with this 👍

I’d second that ref the dedicated lure rod. You’ll quickly get bored of using a carp rod casting every few minutes 👍

SOLD, thanks Jono, nice to meet you 👍

They’re too big to post without spending a fortune, sorry gents! Couple of pics, wife’s been whinging they’re cluttering up the greenhouse (been in there 5 years and she’s just noticed 🙄)

They’re spot on, I’ve got a new shape hilux, great , been to the south of France a couple of time’s i it . Yes it’s bulky to park in tight spaces and thirsty but I can’t fault it, loads of room to Chuck all manner of kids things in.
-
Yeah I’m feeling that too, there’s just not enough time in the week with work and family commitments , I shoot and fish, the last year has been a stuggle time wise for various reasons. I’m hoping 2020 will be better. I don’t want to stop doing either!

I would find a local haulier / courier company and see if they’ll do a day rate on a 7.5t box with driver 👍
-
I could understand it if they kids themselves could demonstrate they had a balanced understanding - they dont! A girl was being interviewed and the said “it’s about time the government starting taking action and taxing c02”!!!!! Whatever they are being brainwashed with is very one sided .

Rabbit numbers in your area?
pegasus bridge replied to pegasus bridge's topic in General Shooting Matters
It’s a very worrying picture I think gents, I’m personally gutted by it, used to have some great sport from a seemingly endless supply of rabbits and now it’s like a tap being turned off 😞 -
Rabbit numbers in your area?
pegasus bridge replied to pegasus bridge's topic in General Shooting Matters
I’d be happy to even see signs of them right now! A large bank once littered with warrens and rabbit activity over 600 yards is devoid of any sign, it’s been a total collapse of rabbit populations that I am seeing! -
Hi all, the rabbit numbers near me have collapsed over the last couple of years, warrens empty and no sign - I could regularly lamp 50+ and the last few outings I’ve not even seen one! this is the notts / Leics border area, what is it like where you are ?
