  1. Fantastic shots, especially the bittern! Ive heard one once, but not seen one. Well done πŸ‘
  2. Yes I would say so, the mrs hated it at first coming out of a Volvo with a fair bit of kit in, but it's grown on her - dirt cheap to run, decent sized, does 55+mpg all day long
  3. I got my Mrs one when her Volvo needed replacing, no problems, basic car by most standards - but cheap and reliable , Renault engine, good service backup, honestly can't complain .
  4. Mine has been fine with Winchester and cci subs, occasional jam (1 in 30), I say jam, it's usually cured by manually cocking again. Mine is a stainless model I've had from new.
  5. I've been steaming and bending wood battens this afternoon using a polythene bag from an old fishing rod and a hand steam cleaner, it's worked a treat too!
  6. Got it today, not bad for the money at all, bit stiff but that's fixable, feet are narrow but again very easy fix. Overall well worth it I think!
  7. Just brought one, at just 34.99 I thought it was worth a punt ; http://www.greenjem.co.uk/garden/boss-snipe-deluxe-shooting-chair-product
  8. I've not noticed them return around me, numbers seem to have been wiped out over the last 18 months
  9. Seen a few swallows today in notts.
  10. I would personally not take the slightest risk, I'm sure babies hearing is functional at 6 months- I know it probably wouldn't damage the babies hearing but I wouldn't imagine the baby would find it a relaxing noise. The risk isn't worth shooting a few clays IMHO!
  11. I love seeing kingfishers, There's some in brookvale park, right in the middle of brum, a mile from spaghetti junction , not nearly as skittish as they are in rural settings. Sadly I think it was a sight wasted on most walking past!
  12. I'm after a crosman rat catcher or similar for my lad (he's turning 7), not bothered about cosmetic condition as long as it functions - Pm me what you have , cheers
  13. Pleasure to meet you , thanks again for the seat - much appreciated πŸ‘
  14. Cheers, it's helped a lot - much appreciated πŸ‘ I'm looking to blast loose paint and debris off with the jet wash, is this ok on fibreglass or should to do it by hand? Edit - would this be ok to use to glue the rails? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181107513489
  15. That's a fair point, would it not be worth repairing if it's leaking ? Or is this just to identify what needs to be done? ( apologies if these are very obvious questions, this is my first boat)
  16. Cheers, yes they do appear to have been cut off (no idea why, the guy I brought it off said they were like it when he brought it a few years ago (he never got round to doing anything with it) few bits of damage where ratchet straps have cut into the top which I'll need to repair too. My concern with the hardwood option is that the shape is curved, it would be a challenge bending thehardwood, my thought process re; using a couple of lengths of marine ply glued and held with g clamps in place as the glue dries ( 2 or 3 in total laminated together) which would follow the curve of the sides and be rigid once glued and layered, I could then cap the top off with hardwood ? Edit - another option I quite like is capping the top off with ply and finishing with thin chequerplate?
  17. Cheers Gents , what sort of hardwood would be best ?
