EastSussexLad
Wow!, just had a read up on the neopolitan mastiff, seems like the dogs breed is very interesting. The breed is reported to have been used to fight alongside the Roman Legions, by having bladed and spiked leather harnesses tied to their backs and being trained to run under the bellies of enemy horses, to disembowel them. natcot
Love the fact that the lab is not making any eye contact with the beast!!! Edited November 12, 2009 by natcot
GREENGRASS
I think I would be looking the other way faced with this beast  Or running. GG
Cosd
You should ask the farmer if he minds you riding the dog! It will conquer terrain the quad can't handle, and looks like it can carry more weight too...... These are fantastic dogs with a lovely nature. I had a half mastiff half rottweiler and that was a great mix. Sadly passed away with cancer at 13 years old

malkiserow
Your Lab has got the embarrased look of a 15 year old girl getting in her mums nissan micra outside the school gates. bicykillgaz
Wow!, just had a read up on the neopolitan mastiff, seems like the dogs breed is very interesting. i knew they was used by the romans didn't know about the spikes though, my old man had one crossed with bull mastiff i prefere the cross breeds there a bit less donkey like, he could shift for a big dog, i was out with him one day and had him off the lead and a hare shot out from a hedge about 10m ahead of us and before i could grab him he was gone, luckily it had a head start he gave chase and after about 35-45m the hare turned 90deg back into the hedge and he missed it by about 1m i've never seen or heard anything like it sounded like a horse going flat out all 10 and a half stone of him, he had an amazing nose on him good at finding fox's if they'd ran, he looks more like a dogue de bordeux or cane corso with him been crossed, there another good solid but fast dog i think it actually means something like runner dog in italian. as you can probably guess i like mastiffs or bull breeds and not as a status symbol Edited November 12, 2009 by bicykillgaz
