swift4me
Looks like you had the same contractor who built most of the houses in Florida. We had those same winds down here yesterday and last night. Maybe if you'd done a better job, the whole friggin thing would have blown away like a box kite. Good luck on the fix. mr lee
It's bad enough the wind took the roof off but worse still somebody has snuck in and cut a few inches off your decking underneath Mrs Pavmans summer house.

Mungler
Yeah not enough steel brackets. Might I suggest box steel brackets for added rigidity?
rimfire4969
I'll take your summer house and raise you my field shelter and tack room. Police had to close the road behind so we could clear the roof off it. Fastest wind speed on the Cornish coast last night 86mph. This shelter has been there about 2 years and has stood up to some good storms up untill last night.

pavman
Yeah not enough steel brackets. Might I suggest box steel brackets for added rigidity? A good point i share,,,, we also had trees down in the area and others close by had similar damage, I was lucky in that i replaced a row of timber that had been ripped apart and we picked the whole roof up and re fitted it with little problems, the trees got a bit bashed but i hope they will recover.... I recon the whole thing went over 400 lbs and when you think the timber was ripped apart and not on a joint it shows the power of a storm
rimfire4969
I recon the whole thing went over 400 lbs and when you think the timber was ripped apart and not on a joint it shows the power of a storm They recon the winds that hit Cornwall were upto 100mph, with my field shelter it snapped the 4 x 2 and 3 x 2 that hold the thing together, when Mother Nature decides its time there is not a busting lot you can do about it. I was just pleased that the bits that were torn off did not hit anyone.
